Tour Titleist TSi 2 & TSi 3 driver and 3 woods - 2020 Safeway Open

Ordered a lefty TSi3 about a week ago after playing with a friend who just put one in the bag. Driver for him has always been a POTENTIAL weapon, crazy long but always slightly directionally challenged enough to find a bit too much trouble. Finally got a good professional driver fitting and happened to land with the TSi3, and man was it pretty. I held it on the first tee, and just looking down at it said I hope it sounds like crap or I might be placing an order. It didn’t sound like crap one bit. His on course results were really impressive!

 

Ive been playing a SIM Max 9* with a Speeder 757 TR and have been very happy. Even told this same TSi golf buddy recently that if TMAG, Titleist or any manufacturer gave me the reigns to design a driver head to look and feel any way I wanted.... SIM would dang near be it. It checked all the boxes for me. Until I looked down at his TSi3 at address.
 

I played solely Titleist drivers from 983k through 915D4. Since then strayed to TM. But looking down at TSi3 just felt like home. Nostalgic like looking down at a modern 983, pear shape is back and beautiful. Hope it performs as well as it looks! It should for me, I tend to swing better when I like what I’m looking down at whether it’s driver, 3w or irons. Look forward to getting it in hand and will report back after some range and course time!

Anyone try 2 weights in the back of the TSi3? I have my TSi3 head coming tomorrow. I play drivers at about 44.5” and am concerned that even with the heaviest weight which is only 4g more than standard, I can’t get sw up to my comfortable D4.

It’s high on my to do list. It’s about to get cold around here and weights won’t be available until 2021. I’ll keep you posted in a few months. Titleist highly recommends not doing this.

Thought i'd share about swing weight of the club...I usually play my driver at 44.5" and just ordered a TSI2 with raw white X and forgot to adjust the weight.  Called the local shop and made sure that they added weight to keep the swing weight the same.  they said they would also consult with Titleist for their rec.  

 

I also ordered a TSI2 16.5 from Titleist online...also forgot to adjust the weight on the order, as a I cut it down .5 (standard is 42.5").  I called titleist and they looked up my order and said I already have a +2g added to the order.  I guess they adjust it automatically to bring it back to the default standard swing weight.  Thought that was interesting...wondering if they do it for the driver too...

 

also i'm a lefty...wondering if that's why I got special treatment...jk.

My brand new TSi2 16.5 fw's face cracked after hitting the 5th range ball last week.

 

Brought it back to the local shop and they are telling me it will be 4-6 weeks for the replacement.   uggg.....

To be honest, it wasn't that cold the day I hit balls.  I think it was around 50 to 55 degrees.  Cool not doubt, but not freezing in any way.  I don't hot range balls if it is too cold out.

Today I learned left-handed surefit is inverted. Reading the setting and seeing the loft had me scratching my head for a good minute.

It is not an enjoyable experience.  Would have been nice if the ball at least flew dead straight and like 270.....  nope.  Terrible shrieking sound and a weak push out right.

Saw the TSi3 for the first time today.   Excellent shape. In the running for 2021 for sure.

While I have always loved Titleist and probably have played their clubs more than any other brand over the years, really not cool that they wouldn't replace this asap. 

 

BTW, how do you like the TSi driver paired with ventus blue? I have a couple ventus black that I like but want to compare it against the blue once by TSI head arrives.

I ordered my TSi2 driver back in mid October and I'm still waiting on it.  

 

Tempted to be done with Titleist altogether tbh.
