Adams MB2 greatest irons of an era?

After putting them back in play on a lark, are now replacing the 2019 Mizunos MPSC, which replaced the MP59's, which replaced the Taylormade tour preferred MB/CB.

Having looked closely at the specs and tech described in Tiger's current irons, I am convinced these Adams clubs were at least a decade ahead of the rest of the curve.

 

I know for me they still feel and play best in class...and it's not even close!

Back in the day when I used to play blades the MB2's were money. By far one of the most forgiving blades that have ever come out. I played the "satin finish" version and man were the sharp looking!!!!

And one of the coolest looking musclebacks ever with the tungsten plugs.

I played the 7 Plug set for a long time. 
 

The second best irons I ever owned (Cleveland TA3 were the first irons I bought for myself and will always be my favs). 
 

Finally wore them out.  They were tremendous though. 
 

much like a lot of the Adams equipment was. 
 

Hence why I hold a non-sensible grudge against Taylormade lol

The MB2's in my opinion were the best retail set of irons ever made. My game is not good enough for them any more, but if I could play one set of irons for the rest of my life and ball striking wasn't an issue it would be MB2's.

So many sets being mentioned that I loved/owned/whatever. I have a set of Idea Pro Gold Forged Black PVD's off the tour that I just love.

Too bad about the grooves... always wanted a set of those MB2's. People act like some things are "all new" and they just are NOT.

The MB2's were PXG's before PXG that everyone could afford. (What has happened to the golf market?)

Poor Adams.... R.I.P. Fast 12 3W still lives on in the bag for now...

Adams made unreal stuff.  MB2 and CMBs are some of the greatest irons of all time, and easily stack up against anything before or after them.  A12 pros were awesome and even the Els XTD tours while they were funky looking, are excellent performing sticks.  Really top notch, amazing gear and its a shame what happened to them.

I just put together a set of raw heads I had for awhile and was shocked how forgiving they were for a blade.  Great soft feel too.

 I love my XTD Forged, the last of Adams making the most forward thinking equipment in the entire industry,

Everything Adams made around that time was absolute fire. Who can forget the CMB with stock C-Tapers. Those would do very well in the T100 MP20 MMC space right now.

Sometimes I forget they are an MB... extremely forgiving.

Never played but I've always admired this blade as an Adams fan.  Milled away top section looks Hogan-esque but more modern.  That combined with brass plugs to bring weight low.  If I were to ever play a set of blades this is high on the list - maybe these alongside Hogan Apex 99s.

I have: Pro Black MB, CB1, CB3, CMB, XTD Forged, and just gave a nice set of A4 Forged to my buddies son.  All are great irons, each near the top of their class when released, from both design and performance perspectives.  I've always said I will eventually own some MB2s, but apparently a few other folks have the same idea ($$$$). I have patience however...

Loved the CB3'S, so forgiving. Played those before I swapped to the PXG's.

Really, really good, imo.  Great feel, thin top line, minimal constant offset. Still very playable though.  Really good turf interaction because of the cambered sole (all the Adams players irons have a similar sole design).  The CB1s have the same constant offset, so they blend well together.

Always loved Adams clubs, I have a set of the black MB2’s 3-GW in perfect condition hanging on my wall. Loved how they looked so couldn’t sell them.

Great feeling irons and very forgiving for a blade design ... Bonus points for being available in left handed.

 

If you’re thinking about it or on the fence, I recommend getting a set.
 

Worst case, you’ll be able to get your money back out of them on BST.

Hey TaylorMade:  Calling for a refresh of Adams branded MB2 style irons.  Let's see the most "forgiving" blade you're capable of!  Tungsten or brass weighted low toe/heel.

Ive got some Adams cb1 cmb mb1 and mb2 all in pretty good shape. I find the mb2’s blade length a little off-putting for some reason and actually prefer the look and feel of the mb1’s which just feel like a proper old school blade with its square toe and relatively wideR sole. All of them Beautiful irons though. My MB1s favourite of the bunch i recon.
