Extremely poor from my guy JT last night. The one positive with the difference in time zones is that the way he was playing made it easy for me to head to bed as opposed to sitting up til 1am ish watching. His driver is definitely becoming something of a concern, seems like it is becoming ever more wild.

Not sure that it is a coolness factor, more laziness. Why say Riviera when you can say Riv? Why say Sunningdale Old Course when you can say Sunny Old? Or how about Ol’ Sunny? 😂

I like JT.  Great player and seems like a pretty nice guy.  On the broadcast over here they speculated he could still be being affected by his grandfather's recent passing.  Could be.  Or maybe it's that "other thing" he was involved with stemming from the ToC in Maui.  Or a combination.  Either way he's playing like someone distracted and who has other things on his mind.  I think he had two 3-putt double bogeys that were struck with all the indifference of a casual round with friends.  Maybe he'll bounce back today but he's got a tall mountain to climb to make it to the weekend.

He definitely would need to go low today to have any chance of being around at the weekend. Certainly can imagine that there are more than a few things on his mind at the moment. I can’t imagine that the start to 2021 has been much fun for him. Hopefully, it will all be a little bump in the road for him. When he is playing at full tilt, he is really something to watch.

It's manufactured familiarity, a great compliment to working the fact that you've played the Old Course at St. Andrews into posts about golf shoes.

As I said, it’s not ideal, but then again, I’m not going on stage at Mr O! You just can’t run a big daily deficit. 

 

Ive lost over 30 pounds over 4 years and gained a nice amount of muscle. Nothing earthshattering, but certainly on my shoulders, lats, and bis (see pic, not bad for 52)

Not possible. If he lost 30lbs, he lost 30lbs. He'd have to lose 50lbs to show any significant muscle gain. I highly doubt he lost 50lbs of fat. Having said that, the dude is juiced to the gills, which is know, and THAT can create an environment for muscle growth while losing fat. It's why bodybuilders do it. Anybody that is trying to lose fat, and gain muscle at the same time, unless the person is an absolute beginner, and it's a short period of time, is not doing it. All they are doing is leaning out and the muscle is showing more. If someone was losing fat and gaining muscle, body weight would have to stay relatively the same, or actually increase. The goal with any fat loss is to minimize muscle loss and loss of strength. THAT's the holy grail of leaning.
