Looking for a new iron set this year and I love how these looks but I am very scared of pre ordering these due to the lead times from ping especially since I got fit into KBS Tour shafts which many companies are struggling to get. Has anyone heard from Ping if these are pre ordered will they ship right around the release date? or will they be delayed out the gate?

They should ship out in a very reasonable time unless the shaft you want is an issue. Your best bet is to ask Ping about the KBS shaft to see if that will delay your order.

Pre orders have not been an issue. But I wouldn't be surprised if they would be an issue, specifically because of the KBS shaft. KBS has had major issues, again no fault of PING. Call first and ask them about what shafts are in stock.

Got it thanks guys will give them a call tomorrow and see. Have you guys or anyone else hit these against the mp 225's? curious as to differences and what you guys may like or not like between the two. I've hit the mp's but not have gotten a chance to hit these yet

I had a quick chat with my Ping rep, and he said that Ping is more focused about satisfying their customers this year than making money and thus he expected Ping delivery times to be improved.

I was worried after reading this post about the feel and sound. After a fitting it came down to Apex Pro, 225 and the i525. Hitting indoor, it is tough to find a difference in sound. The Mizuno did feel best, however best dispersion was i525. I also like the look of a small top line of i525. So many good options out there. Anyone been able to hit these outdoors?

If the i525 was close to sound and feel of the 225 and AP it’s def an improvement.

Those pictures are perfect comparisons. Although the 525 has a little wider sole for launch and forgiveness the top line is absolutely perfect. I can't wait to get my preorder.

Same question here.  Woudl love to hear more comparisons.  I would also add the PXG gen 4 P's to the list.  I am down to these three.  Have hit all of them on Trackman.  Seems like it is hard to make a bad decision.

I've hit 225, i525, and Rogue ST pro outdoors. 225 had the best sound and feel, but i525 wasn't that far behind from that. Rogues ST Pro had the least nice sound and feel out of the three.

I recently hit the i525 indoors - 7 iron only.  I am looking to finally move on from my JPX900 forged irons with PX LZ 6.0 shafts.

I loved the look of the club and the sound and feel were fine for me.  My 900’s felt better but the i525 are pretty good.

I hit both the AWT 2.0 shaft and the DG 120 - both stiff.  These were the only shafts they had - getting more soon.  Both out performed my 900’s - higher, longer - but spins was a touch down from the 900’s.

Would love to try the head in the io shaft as well as some nippons - but surprised the AWT 2.0 performed and felt so good.

I also hit the G425’s. Nice clubs - look pretty damn good for what it is and performed close to the 525 for me.  More offset than I want and what the 525 has.

I too would love a comparison of the MP 225 and the i525- both are my front runners.

I played Ping my whole life until the Mizzy 900’s. Kind of miss my pings.

Aren’t the AWTs made by Nippon? May not be right but I thought I read that once.

Was able to demo the i525 again today, hit the following shafts:

KBS Tour S = always perform well for me in fittings, but I never like them on the course

PX IO = felt kind of bland, prefer the feel of the LZ

PX LZ = love the way this shaft feels nice load/kick feel, just a tad spin-y i probably could have hard stepped it

Modus 105 = so smooth and the impact feel was awesome, numbers were decent all around

only shaft I wanted to try but they did not have was the DG 105

Ordered  Modus 105 S +1/2  and 1 flat

Driver - Callaway Rogue ST ◆◆◆  / Tour AD HD

4wood - Cobra RadSpeed / Tour AD IZ

Hybrid - Callaway Apex / Tour AD DI

Irons - Cobra Forge Tec  /  Dart V 90

Wedges - Cleveland RTX 6  52 / 58

Putter - TM Spider X   Ball - Titleist AVX

AWT made for Ping by Nippon...don't think it gets the credit it deserves. Have a few buddies who have them in their set and they are very happy with it.

Did you happen to hit the AWT 2.0?  I have the PX LZ 6.0 and love the feel but wanted something a bit lighter.  I hit the DG 105 - did not like it at all - poor dispersion & felt loose.  I want to try both the PX IO and the Modus 105 - hoping to get a chance.  But the AWT seemed pretty good.

I have the AWT2.0 and they are definitely underrated.  Ping has a similar ENSO system like Fujikara. They are very serious about their shaft design

Ping are one of the few that actually design shafts themselves to match their products. Most OEMs rely on the shaft manufacturers for shaft design,

My order went in on Tuesday last week; talking to my fitter, when the order went in, nothing was flagged for delaying the order, so that is great. Getting the Modus 3 105 and Golf Pride MCCPlus 4 in a blue dot, half an inch over, so nothing crazy.

Also accepted the order for Glide 4.0 with it, so fingers crossed they'll come together, but not holding my breath.

Anyone hit these vs the i59? I know the latter is a direct iblade replacement so probably meant for the excellent, single handicap ball strikers but visually I was surprised how similar they looked to the i525. Also, if we find the lofts are too strong, believe you can order them weaker for the i525 (and vice versa for the i59)?

If you look above in this thread I posted comparison pictures as well as some data as I hit these side-by-side. Ping does offers power spec and retrospect lofts for both the i59 and i525

Just demo'd the i525 7 iron -- yowzers they are long. Like, probably too long.

20+ yards over my old s56 7 iron. X100 in both the i525 and s56.

Really not sure how the gapping would work. Wish I could test the full set.

Really liked the look. Some sexy clubs.

This was my problem back when the i500 came out.  I don't want to hit my 7i 20yds longer than I do now.  I ended up going with the i210s.  Still in the bag.  I too love the look of the i5XX series, the smaller offset, the thinner top line, etc.  Just don't need the P790 style distance.  Why can't we have a good look (low/no offset and thin top line), consistent/normal distances, and have it not be $2k+ for a set?  They can/should do better with the next i-series, imo.  Plenty of options for folks that want offset and more help in the G4xx and G7xx series.
