It’s Quail Hollow this week as the Tour returns to North Carolina and the players face up to the Green Mile. There was no tournament last year so Max Homa comes in as defending champion having won in 2019. The event next year will move to TPC Potomac to make space at Quail Hollow for the 2022 Presidents Cup.

This one is usually a pretty good watch.  The pucker factor for that tee ball on 18 when things are tight is pretty high.

Every year I watch this makes me thankful that I’m not a member at Quail Hollow. That course really looks tough!

I have been there multiple times for tournaments.  Played it as well with a member/friend. 

Like any long course - if (when) you get out of position, you're compounding the task.

Even before this was written I've thought that 18 was an opportunity lost.  I wouldn't relocate the green but I would open up fairway to the left of the creek more in the landing area distance from the tee.  Certain hole locations would be more easily accessed from the left hand side of the fairway and thus bring the creek more into play on the tee shot. 

 

I really like that creek as it will often lead to a few players attempting shots from it.  More of that is a good thing imo.

I feel the same way about Augusta National.  So thankful I'm not a member there.  Declining membership was the right decision for me.

I wouldn’t want to a member of any premium club. I’m pretty working class and look it. Guys in those clubs wouldn’t like to have one like me as a fellow member.

The past five years or so have not favored the chalk on this course.  Not sure why but there are some interesting names up there.

 

This has a Patrick Cantlay, Adam Hadwin, Scott Stallings type of feel to it.

One of the finest courses on tour. Could make a great Tour Championship venue instead of the dull as dishwater East Lake.

Scott Stallings thats a blast from the past. He got in shape and lost his game
