Why would it have run if Phil was not there? The story is over 20 years old. Isn’t there something more current in Detroit to write about.

For a while there it looked like Phil was doing everything he could to miss the cut with a layup on a par-5 that almost went into the water, a chip that flew past the hole and other ham-handed shots, but he made it on the number somehow.

People really believe this?   If Phil wasn't in attendance, the story wouldn't be relative.   They didn't print it last year w/o Phil.   This is just a journalist trying to get his 15 minutes.

Short ball winners happens all the time, yet they want to change the game as we know it, roll back the ball, go back to hickory shafts, 8000 yard courses for a guy with eight pgatour wins and another with two. Total insanity.....LOL!

I've always argued that lengthening courses just plays into the big hitters hands even more since it starts winnowing away at guys who can't bomb the ball everywhere.

Spent a few minutes scrolling the leaderboard to find some type of rooting interest.  Big names just flopped hard this week.
