Well, that session couldn't have gone much better.  USA with 3 comfortable wins and no match went the distance.

 

Interested to see the afternoon pairings.  DeChambeau/English and Finau/Scheffler would be the pairings based on pods but Azinger mentioned Bryson and Scheffler as playing together.  So we'll see.  But I think all 12 guys for the US have to play today and then re-evaluate for tomorrow.

i almost threw $50 on europe to win the cup at +240, then did some research on the 2015 pga championship and decided not to.... its early but what i saw this morning confirms that europe isnt in good form compared to the usa team as a whole

Even if Xander/Cantlay sit this afternoon, you can bet your house they're playing together in foursomes again tomorrow.  You have DJ/Morikawa pretty much set in stone for all sessions.  If JT gets the putter right he and JS will be together again tomorrow.  I think there's one open 'spot' for a pairing tomorrow that will get decided based on how the afternoon guys play.

i imagine both teams are willing to lose this first session just to see how guys are playing if there are any question marks for the remaining 3 sessions. i wouldnt write it off just yet to be some blowout.

We'll see how the afternoon session goes. This was the same score in Paris 2018 after the first round. Could easily be 7-1 USA or 5-3 Europe after day 1.

I have a father in law who watches everything.  But doesn’t admit it. But then whispers about it to my wife. Who also watches days or our lives.  Old southern women ALL watch their “ stories”.    I absorb it by osmosis.    Since im constantly “ babysitting “ my father in law.   Which means making sure he doesn’t crash a 20k pound truck and trailer or cut his leg off with a chainsaw.  He stops to eat lunch.  And watches that crap.  No lie. 
 

 

 

he’s burning a brush pile today about 2 stores tall and 40 feet or so wide.  I just heard him cut the tractor off. He’s headed in to catch the young and the restless.
