Ping G430 Woods/Hybrids

I think they've been great sellers. Also won multiple best drivers of 2022 for MGS. That said, I don't like the sound so I've went in a different direction. One of the things I appreciate about Ping is that they put performance above all else, which resonates with me, but even I have my limits, LOL.

Being 70 years old and playing in Rock bands for 45 years I didn't think the G425 was that loud.🤣 I just didn't get one because it was no longer than my current driver.

Smaller as in past models  (likely 440 or 445 CC)>  I know somebody who saw them in a sales meeting.  The person said the LST is noticeably smaller, primarily because of design shape, not necessarily volume (15 CC isn't much). LST will be $30 more or so.

100% right about performance above everything else.  They also will not sacrifice MOI.

thank you, a little bummed it will not be 460cc.  I was hoping for a 460cc low spin driver like all the others

It’s 15cc, I think you’ll be good. Ping have the highest MOI, it’s not like a TSI4 where it’s noticeable

I thought the rogue st max ls was higher? 
 

I never understood why ping doesn’t just make it 460.  Wouldn’t it be even higher moi?

The MAX will be 460cc. The LST won't be, and the LST isn't there for max moi.

I understand what you are saying and I kind of feel the same way.  I will say this... They have some reason for not doing so.  I don't know what it is.  Ping legitimately engineers it's clubs to do certain things and will not waste time on gimmicks for marketing.   Not every company does this.

Very true.  I’m an all ping guy.  I just don’t know if I’ll upgrade

 

I agree with you with engineering part.   But if they’re maybe making it smaller to achieve a certain look, or to be more “workable”, then this is where I wish it was 460cc

 

Still curious as to if I should upgrade my 425 LST for this!

I'm still on the 410lst. Its the only club I haven't changed in my bag for 3-4 years. switch irons and wedges every 8mos it seems lol

I guesstimate that these new heads will save me one stroke per year.  I will pay anything to avoid diet, fitness and practice!

Either this or the G425 will probably replace my G400 in the coming months.

Put 400+ rds on it since new, needs a break. lol

Why would there be a Japan version of the G430? They never had one for the G400, G410 or G425

The G430 woods will be released in Korea first (this fall).  They will be available in the U.S.A. in early 2023.

I’m actually relieved. I just bought a 425 lst yesterday and I thought “maybe i should wait and see if PING releases something new”. But this looks basically like the same formula they’ve had for quite a while now so no need.

What are you trying to show with this chart?

 

He's taking about the LST vs the Max Drivers. The LST's average lie is 1.5° flatter than Max (57 vs 58.5).

That's what I was told by a very reputable retailer.  I asked to double check and they verified it will be  a Korean release.

The chart doesn't compare the different driver models... Go look at the average lie angle specs on ping.com

 

G425 Max/G410 Plus - 58.5°

G425/G410 LST - 57°
