But did they use a 300$ shaft to do it with? I think not!

honestly the super expensive shaft would be a much better product or even a cheap graphite shaft, I have the OG EyeLine one and the thing bends so easily, you can leave it in your back or near anywhere where a gust of wind would bend that thing. Great drill though!!!

Can't exactly tell if Hideki has this in the bag today but if he does, based on how he's hitting it, it might not make round 2.

DI-8 TX is beast mode for a driver shaft.

Liking the look of this driver…pretty clean crown.

I had similar thoughts.  That's like, 1 gram's worth.  Maybe it cuts his one handed finishes in half though.

Hideki has both static weight and swingweight targets for basically every single club, so when we see tiny strips of lead tape here and there it appears to simply be for meeting those targets. He is super particular and occasionally very secretive about his specs so it's just a super detailed oriented thing.

I feel bad for hideki’d caddy. He has to lug 900 pounds of gear around every week for hideki to decide what he is going to use, then all his training aids and practice gear.

but hey, he bowed at the masters and became golf catnip for a year. So maybe he has his reward. Lol..

Fair but in that case the positioning of it is a bit comical.

Now take this with a grain of salt, but the PGA Tour rep for Srixon is a member at my old club in Atlanta, and from the things he has told me and seen with Hideki, it being in the exact space and location he wants it is paramount.  Some of his tendencies are a bit overboard IMHO, but I am not on tour and he is so maybe I am the one in the wrong here.

He is very finicky about his clubs and as stated above, his SW and Total weight have to be right on the money and he can tell immediately if they are not.  There is a good chance Hideki wanted that small lead tape right there, and if it was somewhere else he would have taken back to the van.  Now could he tell if one gram was on the toe rather than the heel?  Probably not, but the one gram missing?  He absolutely would notice from what I have heard.

Is this why every week he is at the range with like 5-10 of the same shafts going through everyone of them in this crazy repetition of testing?  I mean its crazy sometimes seeing him and his pile of the same shats.

- Something that continues to go long off the tee in the fairway
- Something that is a fairway finder when needed and long
- Something that high, consistent and helps with par 5’s
-  Something to help with long par3’s and short par 4’s

-  Something metal, lots of them and go the gaps I need
- Something metal, 2x of them and helps me 120y and in
- Putters - limited rotation because I cannot afford misses

Golf is what you make of it.  Play grateful and accepting. We are all lucky to have it.

Rather than expecting lets all try and appreciate instead.
Treat people the way you want to be treated

Actually there are 2-4 others who carry most of the extra "stuff". Shota carries he bag with about 16-20 clubs during practice range sessions and practice rounds.

Using the most expensive shaft possible as a yard stick for a putting drill is absolute comedy. Lol!

So he has other team members there to lug around the other stuff? I'm sure that makes Shota's day. Still, 20 clubs though, ouch.

Anyone know about when these clubs will be released?  And if the LS versions will be available to the general public?

Will be released in January.  The ZX5 LS will be available to the general public, but the ZX7 LS appears to be a tour only head.
