Callaway Paradym driver - 2022 QBE Shootout

Agree.  Getting the point now where unless you really need or just want new clubs your better off spending money on a good teaching pro to learn the fundamentals of hitting the ball properly.  Just my two cents here.

Its getting to the point where its splitting hairs. Lessons to improve overall skill or training aids to increase SS are a far better investment. Member at my local club just completed his first 6 week routine with THE STACK system and he's picked up 25 yards.

No technology in a club is going to add that much and stay conforming.

You guys are crushing my dream of 20 more yards with no practice and being old as dirt.

Maybe a Autoflex shaft in it would make my dream come true ha ha.

Haha.  I will say the Lag Shot club has given me significant more distance now since practicing w it.  👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

What is that? A type of training? Will it work for a old lazy guy?

Edit:

google fued it and it looks interesting. Might add it to the collection with the swing fan and other stuff

I tried stack. There was no 25 yards though

solid program , but that sounds a bit juiced….

He did is along side our teaching pro so I’m less hesitant to call bs. And yes I’m not sure everyone has the potential to pick up 25 yards but it’s a great system to understand what your potential for SS is.

My stack system just arrived so I’m excited to give it a whirl. 122 is my Avg. with driver and I’d like to get ~6-8mph more. Looking forward to the next six weeks of the routine.

have you tried any other training aids in the past? really intrigued by the stack. I use the superspeed sticks the past year and a half but gotten to a point its just doing the same thing over and over in the program. My local teaching pro told me a little about the stack. He's used it for 3 weeks now and went from 105 to 116. Tryna talk myself out of not buying it but not working so far.

I will say... ive been in and out out of golf equipment for the last 10 yrs lol sidenote... man thats a long time... anyways... i do think woods have developed further since then. Irons id say maybe a little if anything. I dont think other then club looks there is too much to offer anymore. I think im done. What i have is all i want. Unless i can hit it laser straight and retain ball speed off the hosel shots lol.

Everything is advancing all the time.  Some faster than others.  Look at the shaft market for example, the tolerances are getting tighter and tighter bc the technology used in creating the actual materials is advancing.   It's really pretty cool.   Now we can fine tune each component in our bag based on x,y,z.

I completed the baseline and back went out (unrelated to the training). I’m hoping I get the all clear to resume after the new year.

I actually consulted and follow Drew Cooper on Instagram. He recommend the stack over speed sticks, sling shot, etc. also the putting training on the app that is in beta is super interesting to me as well.

Late to the party here. I've looked at this thing again and again and I can't get away from it looking like a TaylorMade. It just does. I'm sure it'll fly and do well at retail and all.

For those that have hit the new 3 wood, is it worth an extra  bunch of cash over the Rogue ST LS fairway?  Need to grab a low loft 3 wood in 2023 and trying to determine if anything justifies waiting or is the Rogue ST LS comparable?

Appreciate any insight…. Thanks.

Its always best to test in person. When the new stuff comes out and there is a fitting, or demo day you should try both on the same day side by side with the same swing. Both will be available for purchase during an overlap period when the Paradym equipment comes out. The new stuff should perform better for you, but if it's significant enough to warrant the price difference will be up to you to determine.

Besides purely best shot of one vs best shot of the other you should look at your average of each, and perhaps most importantly is how different is your worst shot with one compared to your worst shot with the other. People often only look at the good shots and say: "I only get 'x' more yards on my good shots its not worth it." When they should be saying: "My bad shot with the new club is ten yards farther than with the old club". More distance, or better distance consistency can be the difference between going in a bunker, or getting on the green.

It’s a great looking club imho. I’m sure Callaway will market it to death and they’ll sell a million of them. It will look great on the rack and in pro’s hands. Taylor Made will do the same with the Stealth 2. Ping and Cobra won’t be far behind and we’ll be able buy Mizuno’s and Wilson’s at steep discounts beginning in June. Sounds familiar to 2019, 2020 and 2021. I can’t wait to try it out along with the others and if I “believe” it will be better than my Epic Speed I’ll gladly part with $600.

I saw/hit this the other day. Thoughts:

1. It reminds me of an older Nike Driver (looks)

2. It reminds me of a bowling ball I used to snag from the rental rack when I was 12 with the blue marbling

3. It is roughly the exact same numbers-wise as my current Rogue. Unfortunately, I will not snag another 20+ yards this year.

Unfortunately, until there's bifurcation, you will not snag an extra 20 yards... any year...

The claims will not be 20 yards. That just isn't possible. But they are claiming more consistent spin rates across the face compared to Rogue ST. So You may see a yard or two better on mishits. If you Nut one out of the middle, no you won't see any differences.

I see sarcasm is lost in chat forums...

I'm fully aware no one is picking up 20 yards from last years driver. Regardless, I saw NO noticeable differences between this driver and my version from last year. Again, just my own observations. For some, another $700+ driver may work better.

Advances in retaining ball speed across the face and spin control are what we'll be seeing. Will that help some hit it further? Yes, if you're looking at all drives (averages) compared to best drives. I'm excited to see and hit the new stuff and give it a chance.
