I didn't really care for the feel of the forged 8620 in a cavity design, felt almost dense hard at impact vs their standard cast. I talked to some who did like the feel though. I've never hit the original blueprint that is forged from the same but I heard they are a bit harder feeling too.

I love my blueprints but in the middle of ordering Artisan irons.

I would describe the feel as dense and heavy. they are heavy heads like Miura and Artisan. For me they feel much better than lighter Mizuno heads etc.

Interesting that after all those comments, his WITB from today has him in the T model. I think we still have to assume he was referring to the S model as this article writes but I wonder if he was also testing the T models that week.

I just get the vibe that these can be as big as the i210s. Definitely looking forward to checking them out.

These are definitely not the size of the I series.  There were/are some pics on the site hear that showed the S and T models next to each other.  The Blueprint S is a tour cavity back model, size is smaller than I series and in line with the older S series Ping irons.  Don't go by internet pictures, they will be very compact.

I don't think they meant physical size, but impact/sales size. I was also a bit confused the first time I read through.

Ooops....just reacted to all of the other posts related to the physical size of the irons....lol  Not sure how well they are going to sell at retail, they will be ultra expensive, but for tour players, and elite amateurs I can see them being the prized iron to have for sure!

I expect the S Blueprint to be a large head design such as the i210.

The S59-55 I believe is as small a head size as Ping is willing to produce, so my guess is that the T version of the Blueprint will be similar in size (maybe even a little larger) than the Ping S59-55.

The OG blueprint is smaller than s55 for sure, its tiny and a blade.

What's "ultra expensive"?

The I230's are $187.50/iron for the next year at least, so there's that.

For another reference point, the Srixon ZX7 MKII's are $171.42/iron.

one can hope they learned their lesson from the i59

Titleists and mizunos going for $200 each and srixon even lower than that. Maybe that could force them to make the price competitive with those?

It’s going to be at least $230 a club, that is what the OG BP cost. Prices usually go up every year so I can see $250 a club. They will be MTO more than likely which is why they could run into a delay if enough people order them. I think the s will go back to the OG S series size and T being a small blade. Unfortunately Ping has introduced the i210 replacement and that is i230. Not a big fan myself,  i210 is just one of those irons that will forever be near perfect. If they replace i525 I don’t understand why you would have two I-series irons. Just stick to the four G,i,S,T

I disagree, I think dropping the i5XX series would leave a pretty huge hole in Ping's lineup for a player's distance iron. Their lineup will now match up pretty well with TaylorMade, which has the P7MB (which compares to Blueprint T), P7MC (Blueprint S), P770 (i230-ish), P790 (i525), Stealth (G430).

If the i530 can come just a bit closer feel-wise to the i230, it could be a really big seller. I'd personally grab it in the 4 and 5 irons to combo with my i230s.

1) the #1 player's distance iron by far is TaylorMade P790 (mostly because of their amazing marketing and now all the 10-20 hdcp using them). everyone else get in line. end of story.

2) and yes, i525 is an excellent long iron substitute in a set of PING, but very few times are an entire set of them the preferred choice. e.g. the i230 is very slender cut of PING's entire iron sales and there are more complete sets of them out in players bags than the i525 could ever dream of. so no huge hole would be left.

3) all that being said availability of the i5XX series iron ain't going anywhere.

Oh yeah, I’ve heard and I’m sure there is a terrific reason. I was also sure I’d get this response when I posted! 😆

*Im just happy they have ferrules now. No ferrules AND a notch was jus like 🤯

Since we talking about it. What’s the actual purpose? I’ve heard everything from it helps “center the weighting”, Bryson (and others) say it helps the club move through the ruff and others say it’s to make loft/lie adjustments easier. Weird how there is like 3 different answers from what seem like reputable sources??? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yeah, I kind of figured this would be a super expensive iron by Ping.  I just hope it’s not on instant backorder like the original BPs.  I had to wait almost 4 months for my BPs to arrive.

If they are $250/head before customization I think that will help the back order issue.

Most of us aren’t looking for a stock shaft + grip too, so $250 + options is going to deter people.
