I’m not a Ping iron guy like I was in High School but at address these look really good. Little offset and topline is very appealing. Whoever designed the back seemed to have an idea then completely change his mind mid design and this thing looks bizarre. The chrome into satin just ain’t it.

Looks to be less offset than iblade from those pics

If anything it would be marginal. 7 iron looks nearly identical to my eye after ~5yrs with Iblade.

IBlade 7-W don’t look too different I don’t think & the clubs being held slightly “off from a normal address position” makes it hard to definitively tell.

What benefits would these deliver over i230s? Feel, sound?

Any negatives?

Totally agree with the above posts regarding prices these days!!  It's beyond ridiculous, and I really wonder, seriously if there will be some kind of backlash to all of this at some point.  I just can't believe that OEM's and even DTC's are selling the volume that they once were.  There can't nearly be the amount of people there once was spending on new or even used equipment at the prices that we see now.  I mean $450 for a new stock milled putter that doesn't feel any better than a new $200 is embarrassing.  $350 for a fairway wood....come on now....the list goes on.

Maybe this is why we're seeing more trade-in advertising to try and offset these higher costs at the local shop level. I see more trade-in marketing than I ever have locally.

Problem is shops are hosing people on their trade ins.  I prefer to sell here or on socials since I usually get significantly more in the end.

100% agree, it’s despicable because what they’re selling those clubs for is also inflated. It’s a better deal to buy here every time.

I have a local store that treats me pretty well on trade ins. I could make more selling here or fleabay but it ain't worth the hassle.

As a mechanical engineer that works in manufacturing, I wonder how much of the cost increase is in raw materials and labor versus things like design complexity or other business-side considerations. I know for us (I work in fluid power - hydraulics and pneumatics), the cost of most raw materials shot up to insane numbers during the pandemic and has come down a lot, but not all the way to pre-2020 levels. Additionally, supply of skilled labor (CNC programmers, machinists, etc) has gone down as well, which has resulted in notably higher wages for those still out there working. We do a lot of custom work, and I know our prices have been less than palatable to some of our customers. But if we don't raise prices, the juice just isn't worth the squeeze. I know it might sound like a long time, but I'm guessing OEMs feel a lot of pressure to make actual improvements in 1-2 years time, and so designs are always increasing in complexity, which will obviously add cost as well. Tough time to be in manufacturing!

Looking forward to getting more info on the blueprints, even though I most certainly do not need them and should not be gaming them. Hopefully we see Glide 5s too, which will most certainly go in the bag.

Guess it depends on how well they treat you.  I get significantly more selling here or on other social platforms.  Fleabay is usually my last resort.

LOL!!  They do look like Honma irons, as well as older Nike CB's.  Might be the best looking Ping iron ever.

I think a lot of tour guys will eat these up big time!!

Ha ha!!  Funny you mention putters and fairway woods.  I am using a Ping Anser BeNi that i bought used for $2.99 almost a decade ago, and a Titleist 915F2/Matrix Black Tie Proto combo that cost me less than $75 in components!!  Would love upgrades to both, but the performance difference doesn't justify the cost in my mind.

To be clear, the Ping S series is a G.O.A.T iron as far as I am concerned.  The s56 might be my favorite iron model ever. I can't wait to see and try these irons in person, and my critical comments on price are not aimed at Ping in particular.   As excited as I am about this release, I just don't see how I consider buying them if the pricing structure is what I anticipate.

Ya, I'm expecting them to be slightly thinner and between sizes. We'll see if they stay with that. I expect the MB original to stay exactly as is.

If it's a chrome plating that puts you off, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In the end, marketing is going to market.

@karstens_ghost as always, very good insight.  Going back to t100/t100s philosophy, if the blueprint s/t follow that idea I think it’s a huge win. The t100/100s’ brilliance is they can combo up or down: t100/cb or mb, t100s/t200. My understanding on the new Titleist line is the t150 is slightly larger than the 100s, so it matches 200 better. Do you have any sense on blueprint s? Given the two guys who put them in, I would argue it’s likely slightly bigger than iblade and designed to either stand alone or combo with i230 (Hatton). If the T is smaller, it could stand alone or combo with original blueprint. Personally, I’d love the blueprint s to match i230 loft progression with sizing between iblade and i230. I think that iron would absolutely nail it for folks. The iblade/s55 folks will then have the t model to work with.  Would love to hear if you or others have more insights at this point on this and/or release date.  Cheers!

It's really nice when the pictures at address are shown, and with the shaft in the vertical position so that you can see the offset, or lack thereof.
