Hate 3 wood, what's the longest Hybrid cannon.

Used to be ok with the 3 wood years ago but just cannot get on with them now. Don't want to give too much distance away so what's the longest hybrid out there presently. Does'nt matter if people think older is better, just give it a shout.

APEX UW 17 degree IMO. 

But honestly most 2 hybrids from major brands are going to go pretty far if you're comfortable with them and able to swing hard

Ping G430 17*. Hit my 19* darn near as far as my 3 wood oftentimes and currently thinking too much of a gap to my 4 iron.

Shoutout to an under-the-radar older hybrid - the Adams Idea Super S 1 hybrid.  Comes in at 15* of loft and a 41.5" Matrix Kujoh shaft.  Not adjustable, but I previously used it as a 3w replacement and have kept it in my possession, even though it's long since been out of my bag.  Just can't bring myself to part with it.

I play a ping g430 17° 2 hybrid as my second longest club after driver. I am inconsistent with fairway woods but that 2 hybrid is point and shoot for me. I messed around with a super hybrid and UW but Ping has been a game changer for me.

I've been meddling with an Adams proto 16 degree, looks good and easy to hit but for me only goes 3 iron length.

Apex UW 17 goes miles! I love my G425 3 wood with a 5 wood length shaft.

I agree. Its too long to pair with a 3 wood. I wish they would come out with a slightly larger 15 head in the UW.

You are welcome to play what you choose, and not play what you have problems with; my buddy carries 2 clubs that collect dust because he doesn't want to put in the practice time to use them, and it's now costing him score wise.

 

With that in mind, ANY club is only as long as the users' swing and ball striking are proficient.

I think most of the current and prior generation OEM offerings are comparable. So, you just need to find the head and shaft combo you like. 
I have a Titleist TR2 19 degree that is really long but I was fit for the shaft. 
For some people 19 degrees is longer than 17 degrees because the higher loft performs better with their swing speed.

Cobra KingTec is pretty good.  Bought one for a buddy with mental midget disorder hitting 3 woods and the hybrid is perfect for him

UW is your answer. I was flying the 17 degree further and with lower spin than the 3 wood I ended up getting. It's unreal.

I am looking for the same thing. Something that will go a little further than my 4 wood off the tee and roll out a little further when hitting off the deck for pure advancement purposes (there are two par 5's at my home course that I normally can't reach in two). Just bought an original Callaway super hybrid 17* that can be lofted down. Should arrive this week. From what i've read the original and paradym super hybrids are rocket launchers. The Epic super hybrids were higher launch and spin. We'll see.

The answer is probably an Apex UW (or an Adams 14° will get mentioned at some point.  Lol, and I missed seeing where PMTW did just that.), but this one is an absolute laser turned down to 15.5°.  I can't elevate it, if that tells you anything.  Everything comes out at maybe 8-9° and over 150 of ball speed with about 103 of club speed coming in.  No idea on spin, doubt it's high. 

 

Bit of a hook machine, though I do try to get it on the flattest setting and square it up correctly.

 

I agree with @rexwrx; it would be much too big a gap to my 4-iron too.  If it made the bag long term, I'd still have choices of a 5W, 21° hybrid and/or a 3 'driving' iron in-between it and my 4-iron.  But if it absolutely must fly below the radar, and you don't care about stopping it somewhere other than "the green", it's great.

This. I have a 19* and it's the longest fairway I carry. It's 5-10 yards shorter than a 3 wood and 2x more accurate. No point in using anything else for me!

I have a tour issue Idea Pro 16* ala what Rickie used to use.  And it has its place for sure, but I'll be honest, its so low spin I can't really make it too playable into greens.  If your only plan is using it off a tee, I'd say you could make it work pretty well (pending your swing speed of course) just depends on what type of shot you're trying to replace.

Cobra Aerojet in 17 degrees is a missile launcher and I get 165+ mph ball speed out of mine with mid launch and very low spin so it with be an interesting comparison with the soon to be released Cobra Darkspeed, the Calloway Apex UW in the same loft is another option but it may launch and spin too low for most players.

+1 on the Apex UW first gen. Hit that 17deg like a rocket, loved it cuz the face sat like one degree open and i wasnt scared of left.

 

However it was a one-trick pony for me and a cobra radspeed tour 5 wood with those magic rails replaced it.

 

pound 4 pound that Cally UW first gen, bash it off the tee and watch your playing partners' faces cramp when you say "i hit hybrid"
