I’ve got blockie beating Rickie this week. Also island greens are overrated at a tour course. Unless their’s wind these guys don’t   have any issues with them

Probably to have highest rated/well known players on TV twice on the host course (which is covered the most) and also to have them on the most watched days twice. Especially when the cut is after the third round.

Nice to see Stallings showing up again. Feels like he'll manage another win at some point, but he's making a nice living out there either way. 

 

Min Woo finished up nicely. Might be his breakthrough year in the States. 

 

Kid from Alabama is pretty filthy. Gotta be hard to hold the line and finish up school when you're playing that well with two years left to go. Probably risking injury fighting off potential wifeys between classes as well.

I remember in the early 2000's a lot of the Sky Sports commentators talking about the winning score being somewhere around the opening day low score doubled and then two added to...no chance, no chance whatsoever that -22 wins this thing.

Kapalua they played par 73, can’t do that with tour pros anymore. This should be par 71 at least, maybe par 70. It’s always been known as a shootout, but still… Noren was -10 with a double bogey!

Hilarious that people blame him.  It didn't matter which two picks he chose, the Euro team played that course setup better than we did.  There was a premium on putting the ball in play and our team tried to play American style Bomb and Gouge and it didn't work.  The Captain is more honorary than anything, he is not forcing these guys to prepare a certain way, or get 8 hours of sleep, or not have a drink.  These guys are professionals for God sakes.  They lost with their inability to adjust to the style needed and failed to perform

Options are limited this time of year due to weather and daylight.  Just got to accept it. Playing on dormant bermuda with no wind is what it is.  But they have about 4/50 states right now that could reasonably host a tournament with no risk of frigid weather. Have to take what you can get.

And they can get some wind from time to time. I recall the same tournament 2 years ago being exceptionally windy on Saturday (b/c I was playing one of my local courses and it was insanely windy). It just isn't windy this weekend. 

 

Kinda like when they play the Open at St Andrews. The course is a lion in the wind, and a kitten when it's calm.
