Likely resting for the TPC next week. He's played 6 of 8 events this season and has never played great at Bay Hill. Can't play every week.

I don't know how Jack is going to feel if only 69 guys end up at Memorial like they've got here at the API.  

 

Like - I think the tour is going to continue to tweak things here but I think one easy tweak is to just put winners in all the events and pull them out of the Aon Next 10 FedEx Cup lists - like they're in the events anyway.  Right now Pavon, Knapp, Eckroat and Grayson Murray are all guaranteed spots in the remaining signature events but they're still in the Aon Next 10 standings.  That's four more guys that could have made it - like regardless of the names that would or wouldn't make it you might as well expand the lists if only 69 guys are getting in.

 

69 guys for a no-cut event is fine with me - like - whatever.  But the 3 Signature Events that have cuts should all shoot for 85-100 guys IMO.

 

I know it's just more complexity but what if all the guys who make the playoffs - so Top 70 - get into the Genesis, API and Memorial the next year but not the no-cut events (which would still be top 50)?  The "Next 10" would be different for those weeks - but you'd just take out the top 70 already exempt guys instead of the top 50 already exempt guys which seems easy enough.  And then the swing 5 would be the same.  That would be a minimum of 85 guys + any winners + 4 sponsor exemptions.  

 

I think that would be better for the no-cut signature events.

I pop these up because I enjoy doing it. I always supposed it was nice to have something better than a thread with a title and little else. If people want to split hairs about Stephen Jaeger, Patrick Rodgers or Justin Lower being notable or not, I suppose there are other things I could be doing 😃

While,I have teased about the occasional “whilst”, I look for your posts before every tournament. The content is always researched and informative and it gets me fired up for another week of golf. Especially in the cold and snow here now. 
 

And has been said previously by others, if MattyO says he’s a notable, then he’s a notable. 🤓

Ah, LIVE at the Range at Bay Hill. The Golf Channel use to have segment of the range on their "LIVE from" programming. Glad they got my email regarding making this a complete show before a tournament.

 

The Range bundled with the GolfBet people is something that they should televise before every tournament. In my opinion of course.

 

PS/ Wish they concentrate on Scheffler swing a little more but that's just me.🙂

Just checking the tee times for later today. Limited field obviously but it seems beyond stupid that Nick Dunlap is stuck playing himself for the first two days. Surely, they could have had someone come into the field to take his place? It's not like in Florida that they would be struggling to find a professional golfer of high quality who wouldn't mind a hit around Arnie's place.
