Is a Newport 2 100.00 better than a bb1

Just as the title says is it that much better

In my opinion no it is not. I much prefer the feel of the bb1 to the scotty.

Some will say yes...some will say no. Only you can decide. Play what you like.

Putters are so much about feel that if you go chasing one based on names you may end up not liking it. Go hit a bunch and go with the one that feels best is the best advice I can give. That being said... I love my bettinardi

Its the same thing. Some will argue a $100 cleveland milled putter is just as good.

When comparing two putters of identical style and neck...it all comes down to personal preference.

Current OTR product from Cameron is no where near as good. And the ones that are as good ...may have been milled from Bob.

Sorry for being nitpicky but the Newport 2 is more akin to a BB8 in the Bettinardi world.

There isn't any better-than in putters. It depends on your putting style and feel. Putters are personal, just like women, cars, etc. Make your own decisions.

Older camerons, 2014-15, are far better. Next would be even older camerons, studio stainless. Then I’d go with any Betti with the honeycomb face.

IMHO yes. The Betti is worth a $100 more than the SC....

let's be real here--- the $100 is about the cost accrued per putter for titleist's advertising.

Currently Bettinardi is better. The insert technology of the Scotty's kill the feel and pureness that Scotty's used to have. The BB1/BB8 are great putters. The BB56 is the best milled mallet out there right now.

2016-present scotty Cameron’s are garbage but they do hold their value better than a Betti from the same price range and years.

SCs are all over tv. Unfortunately you can’t buy one of those OTR. Marketing works wonders for pushing garbage.

I agree with the sentiment about the new Scotty inserts. I had to go back to a 2014 Select Fastback to get that "Scotty feel", that I was looking for.

If you are looking for decent feedback off the face, the Scotty's with the insert are crap IMHO.

But everyone's "feel" is different. Putt with each one and decide for yourself. Nobody here can tell you what YOU think feels the best. Only your hands and brain can tell you that.

I love the 2018 BB1. To me there’s so much more feel than the new Scotty offerings.

I have game a 2014 Newport and own 2 bettinardi's as well. Played with every putter brand around and eventually settled on a 2014 SC Newport - best putter I've ever rolled. Most people hate the new Scotty Cameron line, but I think they're great too and just as good as the Bettinardi's out and would still go with a 2016/2018 Newport/2 over a Bettinardi. Either way you go, both are well-made putters. My vote is always SC until I find something that rolls and looks better.

Got rid of my BB1 for this reason, just doesn't look right and could never get used to it. That said, very nice putter with great feel and quality build. I moved to a Newport in part because of the adjustable weights and better service from the Cameron Custom Shop. Hard to say one is better than the other they are both quality putters, it's personal preference at the point of deciding which to purchase.

The benefit of buying a $100 Cameron is that you will never lose money. Sadly, I'd say the Betti is better but can't hold value the same way.

Cardia i have too agree having bought and sold both the sc i broke even and now have my Gamer that was excellent value its 2002 pro plat mid slant.Love the older ....
