He hits it plenty long enough. Straight enough will be the question.

I like May

Move it around the country now that it is Spring. When is the last time we had a PGA come from the SouthWest?

Flat easy greens at BPB

LONG

DJ and Rory have to like their chances here ... and Brooks of course. Whoever drives it best that week

I enjoyed the course. Tillinghast may be the most underrated designer (after our beloved Stanley Thompson)

Greens aren't hard to figure out there. Only maybe 8 and 15 have any sort of severe undulation

*when wet;

playing there when the fairways run a bit make it a little easier...theres only one real hole that just destroys anyone...and that's 15. your second shot, up that hill to a green with a ridge in the middle (2' high might i add); par is really, really hard if you're in the wrong spot. god forbid pin is front and you hit it up on the shelf...bogey is a stroke gained from up there

Like I mentioned, I'm in upstate NY and courses just started opening up in the last couple weeks. And if May is anything like April has been, expect to see all four seasons come Sunday afternoon. NYC (Long Island) is certainly more mild than upstate though. It will be interesting, and the climate should hopefully challenge the field.

All 4 seasons would be awesome. I want to see Tiger try to hit a 210yd high cut out of 2 feet of snow!

I'm on the same latitude as Bethpage here in NJ and the courses here are getting lush and green by the day. I expect Bethpage to be in really good shape in the next month.

I care less about caring less about it in May versus August, so good move.

I have played Bethpage twice.

Once on opening day in Mid-April and once in the last week of April. The first time it was the day after a couple of days of rain and it was cool (high 50's) and I've never hit more full wedges into par 4's in my life. The second time it was a warm spring and the course was in perfect shape and the temps were in the 60's. Perfect for golf.

So it really depends on what kind of spring they have.

I spoke with Tom Lehman while visiting St Andrews during the Sr Open last summer, and this was exactly his take on it. Win win for all majors.

Ha ha, either you are WRX long off the tee, or those were third shots?

> This year august will be a little bleak, no Firestone, no PGA Champs. But next year I guess both RC and the olympics will be played in August? August 2016 was crazy, with all-the-best-there tournaments week in and week out for months in the autumn

Unfortunately the Olympics are last week of July first week of August, so yes to the Olympics and obviously that's what a big part of moving the PGA Championship was about. Ryder Cup - still end of September.

So the move all about Olympics and the ExFinch Cup thinking it will be more relevant if some football isn't being watched.

Except for Ryder Cup in 2020 my interest in watching golf (except for good Euro Tour events) will basically disappear from the end of The Open until the first week in January. 6 months - and lots of those "eyeballs" the Tour wants to get that aren't hardcore golf fans will be disappearing also - the "real season" is basically 6 months now. Unless you love the playoffs, then add a few weeks, and since a lot of the marginal viewers don't start early January, still really 6 months however you slice it.

Ha! When you going? Was thinking Friday.

I have never even been to a golf tournament before, lol. Imagine if I see Tiger in person?

I jump out on the tee box and be like,

I guess you refer to the sign at the first tee. Back in those days, you had to clear about 250 to get on fairway as you may remember.
