I tried so many 3 woods a few years ago and the Ping G is the only one I was able to hit off the deck with any kind of consistency. I’d imagine the newer pings are even better, but I’m scared to even mess around with anything else. So, my vote is Ping. The lower head height gets the ball up fast and completely eliminates any toppers. It doesn’t cure really crappy swings, but no club will do that.

The ltd 3 wood is amazing. I'm not a fast swinger I average 106 with driver and have no issues launching the ltd from the fairway and it's like a mini driver off the tee. It's one club that will stay in the bag until the face caves in.

M3 15*, cranked one click lower to open the face, with a AD-DI 7.

Need to be a confident and consistent 3 wood player to play this set up, but if 3 wood is your most reliable club, like me, it's a canon.

Lovely small profile by the ball, sits nice and square to slightly open, great thwack sound, low spin and good launch/descent angle.

I’m biased as stated above and I also hit the Cobra. It came down to the Cobra or the TS2. I really liked the sound of the Cobra and it felt good. But ultimately the TS2 between the sound, feel and solidness of it I had to go with it.

My HL M4 is very good.

Ive hit the 190ST and that thing is sweet! You can grab one for 100.00 now.

Also really liked my old M2. It was longer than anything else, but I'm much more consistent with the M4.

So I was able to try the Cobra ltd vs my R11s on a simulator. I got 5 mph more ball speed and 10 extra yards of carry. These were not great hits but I was impressed for sure. I ended up getting one from eBay since the owner of this one still uses it and wanted more for it than what I wanted to pay. Interesting note, the owner of the club I tried is also the owner of the local golf store I shop at. Cobra has been wanting him to play their newest models for years but nothing can kick this club out of his bag.

I got a G410 LST 3 wood last year (replacing a M2 Tour), and it went into the bag instantly, and I haven't considered changing since (though I did recently switch shafts). I find it's great off the tee and off the ground, and for some reason, I find it really easy to hit solidly. Workable, but still very forgiving. I can't recommend it highly enough, if you like Ping clubs.

If you like the look of smaller head 3 woods, my gen2 pxg has been really good. For such a small head it is very forgiving. I have it paired with a tour ad 6s. Ohh and it is long, maybe a touch longer than my old rogue sz, definitely more forgiving though,

Struggled forever to find a 3 wood that was great off the tee, and easy to launch off the deck. Callaway epic flash sub zero finally ended the constant search for me. Not sure how it can be so long off the tee, while also easy to hit from fairway or rough. I game the 15 degree flash sz with a AD TP 7x, cut down to play 42.5”. Played around with different weight configurations and settled on 10 gram weights in each port and it hasn’t let me down since it went in the bag start last season. Tested others and it wasn’t that close, although I did like the TS2 (amazing off the deck, couldn’t keep up off the tee).

Saw Rory on TV saying he hasn’t switched fairways because he feels the M6 is the best 3 wood he’s ever played

I used a 910f for the ~8 years before switching to a 917f2. I tried other fairways but nothing gave me the combination of length off of the tee and turf interaction on the deck that the 910 and 917 gave me. Haven't tried out a TS2 off of real turf yet but in-store testing was promising. I may have to try and grab a head sometime this year

My M4 is easy to hit, long and forgiving.

The 190 mizzy 3wood is a sleeper. You can grab a new one off ebay for 85.00-100.00.

TS2 best all around for me. Liked the Cobra F9 off the fairway a lot but always worried about it overdrawing off the tee box. G410 is forgiving but not the longest for me. TS2 just seems to check all the boxes.

Well -- not seeing love for the Srixon F85 - but it was the longest/fastest ball speed in the comparison run by on that other site (MGS). So I picked up one on BST for a song (Srixon woods get no respect). I love it ... it looks gorgeous from the top and feels/sounds great when you nail it. In terms of "longest, most forgiving" I believe it was the #1 in length and highly rated in terms of forgiveness in that comparison.

That said -- I picked up a G410 LST to try recently (I liked my G400 stretch a lot), but it has not yet arrived. I also really liked the Cobra F8+ offerings -- and still may keep and game the F8+ 4-5W as needed.

I used to hate hitting 3 woods off the deck, never could make contact for the limited number of times I would need to hit it. Got a 2016 TI M2 3HL a year ago and it was money. Then I decided to splurge on a ping G410 3W LST and it is amazing. So much more solid to hit off the deck, solid and just as long as the M2. Paired it initially with tensei pro white 70 TX and was great but even better now with hzrdus smoke 70 6.0... love it...kicked the M2 out of the bag. Maybe it is the flatter sole that really helps off the deck. and I can elevate the 14.5 3 wood no problem.

I had an M2 Tour 3 wood that I absolutely loved, but unfortunately the face cracked. TM replaced it with an M4 that's just not the same. I loved that M2 Tour.

I have to go with the TEE cbx 119. I played an epic flash all last year and hit it well, it was a dependable club from the tee and the fairway but felt that it didnt have enough pop. Started toying around and really liked the Mizuno ST190 Spoon but the CBX 119 is just an absolute rocket launcher. It's got a smaller head but it as forgiving as any fairway ive ever hit.

I have spent the last 3 days with the Maverick standard 3 wood, coming from a epic flash I didn't think I would get much more juice out of it but I'm a easy 15 yards carry and another 10 in roll.

Well said Bob. I hook the ball and need a square to open face wood. I loved the M2/1’s but the white line makes it look closed.

i have had the best years with SLDR Mini 16*. I am surgical off the tee and low launch off the deck but I make it work.

i tried everything. Ex10 16.5 w Haz Yellow was in the bag this summer and was a weapon. But not as long.

I keep trying to find a replacement too.

My Mizuno ST 190 is a rocket and only 20 yards behind my driver. Looks beautiful at address, very square to slightly open face so it has an anti left bias
