Tiger to PXG?

Ok hear me out before tossing me off the boat:

 

Bob Parsons is a former military man, and we all know Tiger is obsessed with the Seals. So much so that he actually did military training and there were even rumors of him giving up golf to enlist (never happened obviously).

 

Bob Parsons also is a very rich man, and potentially would throw as much money at Tiger as needed to sign him. Imagine how many people would buy PXG if Tiger was on their staff of tour players?

 

Lastly, Titleist is the only other club manufacturer that I think suits Tiger, and they are notorious for not paying their staffers as well as other companies.

 

Thoughts? Doesn't sound as crazy as many would think imo.

I suppose he could use some of the screws from his clubs to put his body back together if he starts to physically fall apart while on the course... Might be a good match.

Sometimes I wonder, if the times from 2010 onwards will be known as the Conspiracy Theory Ages or as the Age of Disenlightenment.

Why does nobody check something as simple as that anymore, but instead jumps to conclusions that some dark forces must be at work?

I think Tiger will go PXG as well. At least he won't have problems paying for his clubs like Rich Beem did. I doubt Tiger's credit card has ever been declined.

So yes I can imagine the number of people who will buy PXG because of Tiger. But anything is possible.

I think both Tiger and Rory will not have equipment sponsors and play what they want to play. Not sure about Rory, but Tiger doesn't need the money.

I don't think parsons will get tiger or Rory. As I said in the other thread. I see both playing a mixed bag. With a Titleist ball and a driver contract. Nike will pay both an obscene amount to wear their clothes and shoes. No way parsons lets a Nike clad tiger hawk his irons. Besides. When has tiger ever played a hybrid anything ? You guys think pxg is going to start cranking out glued hosel drivers and fairways ? Heard It here 1st. Zero chance of tiger going pxg. Doesn't fit at all.

I'm more intrigued by what Nike does with the TW branding moving forward. It was pretty clear Tiger had a lifetime contract with nike, similar to MJ. As I recall, MJ had a pretty rough patch to end his career, but his brand has seemed to weather that storm and still thrives. At the same time, I am not sure the TW label will ever have an iconic shoe that has cultish followings, but I suppose time will tell.

Tiger will purchase the Lynx name from ailing GolfSmith for $99, and introduce a new line of "Big Cat" clubs, including but not limited to:

 

"Feral Cat" for the junkyard dog players.

"Bengal Tiger" for those who think they are great.

"Kitty" line for juniors.

"pu$$y" line of low compression balls for slower swing speeds.

"Navy Seal" ball retrievers.

The worst part of the whole "no more Nike equipment" revelation is not the fact that they are out of equipment, it's that now we get back to the good ole "Tiger may sign with Company A but they will be Company B clubs stamped with Company A's logo" debate. Awesome.

Secondly, I'm sure Tiger has multiple sets of his Nike blades and wedges laying around. It may be 5 to 7 years before you ever have to consider changing equipment. And he may be done by then.

When Tiger dumped Titleist for Nike, he demonstrated a willingness to play 'inferior equipment', so it's not really a stretch to suggest he might switch to something screwy like PXG.

If I were Tiger, with Tiger's money and pull in golf, I would contact Miura, Mizuno, Fourteen, or Honma and have them make me the exact irons I wanted, and stamp them with the Nike swoosh. (he has some stake in Nike afterall)

 

Then I would sign a Taylormade driver contract and hit a glued hosel M1 with all black head. Which TMAG could sell for $1000 each.
