Well, today was a mess. 80! Ugh. 70 would have got me in a playoff. Highest round of the year. Irons were so bad that at one point I hit 17 degree hybrid (my 245 club) from 170 just to not have to look at a seven iron!! Hit 13 Fairways and 5 greens. Sometimes that happens ! Golf is hard...

 

My new plan is to wear out the driving range tomorrow . I'm hoping for a nice calm week in California . 40-50 yard wind just wore me out.

Golf is such a fickle game. For example, last year I shot a 47 on the front and a 36 on the back. All I did was cross the street from number 9 to number 10. Everyone searches for consistency in golf, but I am beginning to believe that the only consistency is inconsistency. :-)

But we keep getting this:

- long wet rough

- damp fairways with no roll out, drives are hopping 1 yard

- double cut and rolled greens running 12

- buried pins

 

Everyone's cap is up 2-3 shots at our club this Spring. We had 120 guys last Wednesday and 3 broke 80 (again)

I talked about this on another forum, and barely anyone agreed with me! I feel vindicated now. Wind has calmed down lately but there has been some seriously cold and windy days this spring.

Tertiary Goal: staying disease free

Is this a pre-emptive excuse????? I really hope this does not go down like all those times I play golf with 'a guy from work'. You know the one - they brag about how good they are, so you finally get a game lined up and then in the days leading up to the round all you hear about is how their back is sore, how they are playing bad and then on the big day they have the "worst round of their life".

 

I have been looking forward to this for a week - Issac you better hit the range like a mad man and show up with your 'a' game. We are counting on you and OB.
