Koepka uses the Tour Velvet BCT cord.

They are easy on your hands and golves. I use them in all my irons and wedges. Cheap to replace if worn.

I've always used tour velvets, just love the feel, simple design, good on the hands, i find they are quite durable - a good scrub gets them sticky again, and if not they are pretty cheap to replace.

I also like the tv360 as i don't have to worry about putting them logo down

Another thing to consider is that pros have to play rain or shine where as most regular joes won't play in the rain. Pros need a grip that can hold up in wet conditions and a lot of the grips that feel great when dry are really slick when wet. The tour wrap is a good example. I also second that notion that a lot of pros probably grew up playing tour velvet.

Seem to be more and more full cord users out there lately

If it was me and i aint paying for them i would be so getting them to do some grip master leather stitchbacks on every club

Tiger's been using corded tour velvet ever since he was an amateur. It's personal preference. It feels really nice and tacky when new but get smooth and hard faster than most grips.

I've noticed the trend on tour wondered about it also. I tend to agree with the comments above about them being good when new, and the tour pros not having to worry about getting them replaced as often as they wish.

I used to use Tour Velvets also and recall having them put on my ordered clubs from Club Champion in 2014 (not that long ago) without even giving it a second thought. I remember always thinking that the NDMC were too harsh on the hands, and I've never liked full cord grips (like the tour velvet cord, tour wrap cord, etc.). Then I remember trying the NDMC out for an extended period because I bought a club that had that grip installed. I liked it quite a bit, and later ordered a set of Mizuno irons with the NDMC since that was the standard grip. Now my entire bag is MCC Plus 4 with the exception of a couple that still have the regular NDMC. I don't even think I'd play the Tour Velvets anymore if I got them for free. The newer options are just better IMO.

I’ve been playing these grips for years. I change them every 6 months and scrub them a couple of times between changing them. Do these hold up better than the cord version? I’ve thought about going to tHe cord during summer months when my hands a sweaty.

In my experience the cords are worse when they go bad. And they both take about the same time to firm up and go slick. At least the TV has the tread in the rubber for some grip/feel. If you're only going to use them for 6 months, the Cords should last a summer season and I prefer them over the TV for hot/humid.

I'm actually using the TV 360 version instead of the regular version. Seem to last longer and the pattern has a little more traction.

I have had BCT cords on my clubs since March, I play or practice 4/5 times a week and my grips are holding up nicely.

On days I get overly sweaty(Texas heat) I clean them well and/or clean all parts of my clubs once a week.

Only thing I am noticing so far is that some of the cord is coming out of some of the grips, nothing a little scissors can't fix and it is not impacting how they play yet. Nothing like slick parts.

Right now, my plan is to play all winter and change the grips again in March; will see if I get there.

Probably because 1) they like them 2) they can replace them for free whenever they want.

I am using the Tour Velvet Align and I really like them. I’ve tried many different grips over the years including leather and these are as good as any of them.
