Played first round with DF 2.1 today (with minimal practice on carpet at home). Face just always feels square to where I set up. Wasn't used to the speed yet and kept leaving putts short (coming from a blade so the heftiness of a mallet scared me into thinking I'd smash the putt long) but the lines were excellent. By the end of the round, I was looking forward to 10 footers as it felt like point and shoot. I just need a couple of more rounds to dial in the speed and adjust to the Press grip; then I'm positive my scores are going to improve from putting alone.

 

My playing partner commented that each roll was perfectly end of end.

 

Congrats. The DF is just so solid and just let IT do the work and it will take care of you. I do now think about holing 10 and 20 footers with mine.

Ugh, finally caved when I saw the Link putters had hit the LAB Golf Outlet store. Also when I missed like five putts within five feet this weekend.

 

I just want to say how much I appreciate the approach the LAB folks take in their marketing materials. It's really, truly refreshing to NOT feel like I'm being hustled or yelled at when I watch your videos. There's an honesty and humility in your presentation that won over this cold-hearted skeptic. 

 

In completely unrelated news, you guys should find a way emphasize that you are NOT affiliated with LA Golf.

Does anyone have or tried the Mezz Max with both the Accra shaft and the LA Golf shaft? I’ve had the Max with the Accra and the Mezz 1 with the LAGP but looking to get a new Max and wondering what others opinions are on the two in the Max head.

I haven't but I am waiting on my Mezz Max with the Accra shaft. How did you find it?

I like how stable feeling the LAGP is in my Mezz 1 but it still has a tingy sound to it. The Accra in the Max has a softer feeling and more quite sound. I am hoping its the head and not the shaft, trying to get  the best of both worlds with the soft feel of the Max and stable feel of the LAGP.

Going to order the Accra as well when I decide between the Mezz Max and Link. I noticed the sound change in my Bat Attack after installing the BGT Stability. Definitely takes some getting used to, as it is like you said, tingy.

I love both the df 2.1's.  I've decided to bag the older model that I bought used.  It has slightly 'better' feel to me and the grip is the textured press II which I slightly prefer.  The new one I ordered has steps in the shaft and the old one is step-less.  Not sure if this makes a huge difference and I could play either.  I've been putting really well with both in practice and made 5 birdies last weekend on 10-12 putts.  My lag putting is WAY better with these and my speed/line on breaking putts is improving.  Being able to move the ball forward in my stance is proving to be great for alignment/seeing the line as well.  I honestly can't believe more people don't use them at this point.

Very excited to try this technology out, I have hit the DF but I really could not get over the looks, Mezz was intriguing as I am coming from a Scotty Futura 5W.

 

Didn't want another mallet putter, absolutely amazed when I saw the Link1, pulled the trigger and here we go!!!

Does anyone use their Mezz or Mezz Max with a standard non-press grip?  Is this considered a no no?

First one I had many months ago had a ss pistol 1.0 on it. ( mezz).  To me it was very well aligned. But it also looked like it would be very difficult to align ( easy to set closed ). 
 

it would work well IF you are a natural forward presser. If not you’re going to be adding loft at impact.   I’m not a forward presser .

I joined the L.A.B 2.1 revolution this week. I have to say I'm enjoying the experience, the feel and the results to date. 

 

To be fair the L.A.B is only my 4th putter of the 23 season! 🤣

Just make sure to give it a fair chance and you will love it for sure. Most people see a short but heavy rebound after the initial honeymoon. After that, the putter is pure money

After way too many putting sessions I decided to go with the Link over the DF armlock. Both putters are so amazing just have had really consistent results with the Link. I like that I can use my normal setup with it and the lack of forward press. BUT the DF armlock is also amazing, I have gone back and forth about 5 times but I am committing to the Link. I guess I am just posting this to hold myself accountable…I need to get the DF out of my office or it will suck me back in!

I’ve been messing around with different ways to grip the club and I’ve landed on having both my index fingers extended down either side which I think is how Koepka putts.  I’ve never liked gripping it this way on my normal Lamkin Deep Etched but so far it feels great on the larger Press grip.  If anyone else is not getting along with the larger grip maybe trying this can help you too.

Well this isn’t working for me anymore.  I just don’t like big grips and I’m going to have to put my DF 2.1 on the sideline until they come out with a smaller grip.  I really like the putter, just not the grip

had the same issue, ordered a press OG grip from them and it was a game changer. Think it may be your solution

Thanks but I unfortunately I emailed them and they said the OG is discontinued.  I can’t find one online to buy either.

 

They said they’re working on a replacement for the OG but they couldn’t say when it’ll be released

I‘ve read about some peope using different grips on their DF‘s. Midlock and such stuff. I think, you can technically use any grip as long as the 3* forward press does not bother you.

You might have to make sure it does not throw off the balancing.

No I guess I just saw it wasn’t recommended for the DF 2.1 so I dismissed it.

I play the 1.5 on my df 2.1 and love it.  I didn't like the offset of the 3*.  I ordered my 1.5* with the DF 2.1 and have not putted better.

Been through 2 LAB B2s and had a big love/hate relationship with them. 

 

Love the feel and the ease of hitting any putt under 10'. Love the feeling of confidence stepping up to any 5' putt.

 

Hate... man that thing had no forgiveness. It seemed like any miss came up way short. Hate... never ever figured out the speed of my putts. Just never felt good outside of 15'

 

Enter the Lab Link.1... 

 

Certainly feels forgiving. Putted around a bunch day one on a big green and it absolutely was easier to judge speed, and its every bit as good inside of 10' as the B2, if not better.

 

Back on team lab... expecting to stay this time.

Question on grip changes. I have the Link.1 with the lab golf putter grip. I was thinking of throwing a garsen tour quad on but wasn’t sure if this would knock the balance out of whack.

 

I am concerned as balance is the key to the whole concept so wasn’t sure if this would mess it up.

I went to my local PGATSS and tried out the 1.5 on a Mezz and that grip feels so much better to me.

 

Has anyone changed from one press grip to another on their DF 2.1?  I want to give it a try but wondering if it will mess up the weighting/lie angle balance of the putter

Can anyone compare the stability between the df 2.1 and the Mezz .1 max. I love the stability of the df, just can’t get over the size. I haven’t had a chance to try the Mezz max.

I have just received my Mezz.1 Max and have a question. When resting the putter shaft on my finger at the balance point, should the face be settling in a certain position or should it set at a random position each time? When watching the revealer videos it looks like the putter comes to rest anywhere and doesn't try to find the same position every time.

 

I'm not sure if I have worded this very well so if it doesn't make sense I can post some photos and try to explain it a little better.
