Just a head's up to anyone thinking of buying a LAB putter - you're going to get very addicted to twirling the putter around in your hands when you're holding it on the green. The torque free spinning feels very cool and it will become your new thing.

Just an FYI.

100%.  Sadly I have the stability shaft and the balance is right by the transition from steel to stability.  Can’t get a super powerful spin.

So true. It’s like a built in “ stimming  “ device.  And I caught another guy trying to do it.  Was a train wreck.  He dropped his putter on his toe. Yelled and then looked around to see who saw it.  Yep. I saw 👀 it 😂

“with this putter I don’t have to “do “ anything … just send it. And it’s online. Everytime.  There is no “ I pushed that “. Or “ I pulled that “.  It’s a non issue.  “

This statement should be saved at the top of this thread!!! Could not say it better myself. I missed 4 birdies Sunday and never once said I pushed or pulled it or killed it or never hit it…. All were just bad reads!!!

Any LAB putter does not come with an excuse!!!

I love my Link but I am definitely having them change my flat lie angle up a few degrees, after that change I think it will be perfect.  The Link.1 really is a great putter, even next to the Mezz Max I tried for a few weeks it shines and has great alignment for me.

Will playing the wrong lie angle (lie angle more flat/upright then your fitting) effect the balance? If it’s lie angle balanced what would the effect be of playing the wrong lie angle?

I feel like it greatly depends on how you respond to lie angle.  Meaning do you adjust your stance to the lie or adjust the lie to you normal stance. I find I can adjust my stance fairly easily as long as it is + or minus 2* or so. Any more than that and it starts getting uncomfortable.  And that really is all the virtual fitting is, it’s them looking at your stroke to see what’s comfortable and their assumption is if you are comfortable you will putt better (paraphrasing Sam from a podcast). Long story longer I was fit online at 70* but my gamer is at 72* and I love it.

Is there a consensus on the best shaft to use in the DF? I’m thinking about ordering one, but not sure if the Accra or other shaft is worth it.

Side note, if anyone wants to part with a 34” 70-72* lie DF shoot me a message.

I have stock steel and it’s just fine

LAB guys have said a bunch of times their stock steel shaft performs well, which it does. The upgraded shafts add a touch of stability. So they recommend that if you can afford it, why not do it.

My first year with the DF was the stock steel shaft. I have the stability shaft now. There is a minor, and I mean minor, feel in difference and a touch more stability if you will. So if you want to spend the cash, it won’t hurt.

Just got a response from the online fitting as well as had a fitting at club champion. Overall not too different, specs from each are below.

LAB: 34.5", 72 lie, Mezz Max

CC: 35", 71 lie, Mezz Max

Going to lean more towards the LAB fitter specs and order a custom. Does anybody happen to have the 20% code? I have the 10% from the website.

The tapered Quad Tour is 24 grams lighter I think, which is the switch I'm probably going to make on my Link arriving soon... since it's just under threshold, hopefully will be OK. The non-tapered is only like 50g so that might be too much and throw it off I guess?

So used to play a lot of golf and now days only play 2-3 times a month. One constant in my game over the past 20 years is I SUCK at putting I have tried everything from doc17 to the Cleveland tour trainer cube, every grip, I practice putting daily even still, have bought all kind of trainers and gadget to no avail. Finally found a used df 2.1 used I could afford and all I can say is WOW. Guys I have played with for the past 20 years can’t believe how good I look putting.  I used to average at least 3-4.  3 putts around to the point no one would give me a putt cause they always knew I would miss some.  I have not 3 putted in the past 6 rounds and now my gummies range is 2-3. Ft cause they now I will make 95%+ of them.  My advise if you are a bad putter find one try it you might just enjoy golf even more.  As a bonus my chipping has improved cause I can be more aggressive cause my confidence is there I will make the putt no matter if it’s 2’ or 10’

I am considering A Direct Force 2.1 putter and have a question for those right hand golfers that are left eye dominate and using Directed Force 2.1 Putter.

A few years ago I went for a Edel putting fitting and it was recommended no alignment mark  mainly due to left eye dominance, and it seemed that my aim was better with no markings, I never did putt well with the putter.

Do you have any alignment marking on your putter if so what alignment marking number are you using and has it helped with your aim.

I'm right-handed, left eye dominant and have #19.  I like the parallel lines going along the target line. I tried one of the stock 2.1s but the perpendicular line doesn't do it for me. Love the putter, might be the best single club I've ever bought.

Can someone please explain this? What lofts are we talking here for armlock?

311661403_BildschirmfotovonSafari(19-06-2323-40-50).jpg.c7c82f08f4c3d5c614a4a4deb19efca4.jpg

The effective loft is the actual loft on the head and the loft on the left is what it would be with the shaft lean.

By the way, after receiving my Link.1 with 66 degree lie angle they were super helpful to change my lie to 69 for no charge (although I spent 800 on it initially) and only a 7 day turn around.  With the correct lie angle this putter is my absolute favorite putter, the Link is awesome!

Did you order it at 66? That’s really flat. Will they do a Armlock Link or is that not possible as not enough weight to counterbalance?

I did but on the advice of the video fitting, I guess my hands looked low in the video but I couldn't mentally get over how flat it was, it's perfect now at 69.  I don't see an armlock option for the Link.1 on their website, I had a Mezz Max that was great but did not care for the look of the built in shaft lean.
