Ping G425 closer than we think? (In hand Pics Pg. 16)

Looking forward to more details soon.

Interesting that Hatton had the LST in the bag but a RF shaft. Not exactly a combo you often see together.

He had the 9* turned down to 8.1* so it wouldn’t appear to be an attempt to add launch. Unless he wanted a more open face at 8* and used RF to add launch. Heck idk how one arrives at that combo

I am a little jealous he got a G425 LST at 15.7* and hope I can get one that high or higher prior to adapter adjustments.

Well this is confusing.  WRX WITB on the top.  Another site on the bottom.  They have much different specs for Hatton's setup.

Nice, I presume you were leaking the LST right, even with the weight set to Draw? How was the LST face at address, open or closed?

The ATMOS TS shaft is outstanding in any head, it was so good in my G410 LST head when I had it. The only thing that may pip it is a Ventus Velocore(got that in my Speedzone). I have the ATMOS TS with a TM, old Ping G tip and the new G410 Ping tip. Let's say, I'm hooked on Fujikura.

Been mulling G425 Max or LST myself. This is one time I wish I was in Aus vs here in Los Angeles, but oh well, when Ping US release it - just take my money 😍

Fitter didn't play around with the LST too much as I was mainly there for Hyrbid. The LST is definately a sweet head until I got told the price. My pro shop doing a deal for me had it around the $850 AUD mark! Thanks for the heads up on the Ventus will test it out.

Got my 9 Deg LST from Japan last Friday, played 2 rounds with it since. Been using a Tour AD GP 6s which was in my 410 lst. Tried it at 9 and it was slightly higher launching than my g410 lst, so cranked it down to small -.

Initial impressions: Very similar in look from the top, maybe a slightly deeper face on the 425?? Bottom of the club is much better.

Feel/Sound is totally different kind of similar to the M6 which i've tested, worth buying for the feel alone over the g410 imo.

Seems a little more fade biased than the 410 which i like, similar to the ping g ls tec which i've also played.

Could have been hitting it slightly further than the g410 with a little more forgiveness - too early to tell though could just be the honeymoon period!

So far so good, feels like small improvements in performance but a massive change in feel.

Were you able to order it with a heavier weight in the back do you know? Wondering because I play my G410 at 44.25 and added a 6g weight to get swingweight right. Wish the weights were interchangeable dang it!

I didn't see any options to increase the head weight on the sites i was looking at, i figured if i needed to i would use a bit of lead tape and get one over here when they came out. Ordered stock with the ping tour 65 with arccos. Checked the weight in the back and and it is 14 grams but it is good as it is, maybe even fractionally heavier than ping g410 with stock weight - i play my driver at 45". Didn't have any of the other shaft options like rogue 130 as standard which was a little disappointing, but i was always going to put the GP in it anyway.

I’m just here for the comparison numbers vs 400max...

They have been posted previously.

G400 Max be G425 Max is 300-400 in my memory is right. However, the reviews that have been coming out have had multiple people where the Max actually spun lower than the LST and needed to be lofted up.  Hatton won the BMW with a Max but used a Diamana RF shaft in it, which is probably for launch purposes as he played the DF in his fairways.

LST stock weight was supposed to be 17g I thought, interesting. Any idea what it SW's to? Yeah the Rogue 130 is definitely a nice stock option.

I'm very interested in going with Ping woods next year. I have a SIM coming in January as a replacement for my dented M5, but it may never get in the bag with if the 425 is lower spin than the 410.

that sucks given you’ll see the new line at TOC in January with February release.

I know. I just don't know if want to keep up the constant replacement of Taylormade woods. I don't get to play as often and I havent owned some of the drivers long before they fail. Don't get me wrong Taylormade's customer service is great and I know clubs can only take so much of a beating, but there is a lot of waiting for the multiple driver/fairway heads to be replaced.

This is one of the reasons why I am in the midst of switching my shafts into a Club Conex Uni-fit adapter. There is sleeve for the G410 and one G425 and now I don't need 2 shafts 👍

So Ping have trademarked G430. Any chance that's what the North American release will be?

It's still the G425

The spec weights is very interesting. The LST is smaller CC and weighs more. Wow. This is going to be one tough one to pick on a pre-order comes around...

Yup.  Anything they think they're going to use gets trademarked.  Many amount to nothing.  I didn't know that until a buddy in the Trademark and Patent office told me that.

None.

There are a lot of costs associated with doing that.   The only time that happens is if a not previously discovered trademark issue happens in some part of the world or there is brand value in  using a different name elsewhere that justifies the added cost.
