The only spec that differs from the iBlade is the PW bounce is 0.5 less. Mildly disappointed no "U".

Well, it's an aluminium insert that has some mesh properties...

These are looking more and more like an i500 and Blueprint hybrid. Market is hot hollow body “blades” I guess.

And if they've fixed that dreadful i500 miss feel & hot spot....

You can bet these things are gonna be legit

After seeing the amount of tech, I just pray for a somewhat reasonable price tag and a just above iBlade forgiveness.

Chances for both are small I guess =(

Yeah I'm hoping that aluminum reinforcement behind the face eliminates the hot spot. These forged thin faces on every brand's hollow body irons seem to trampoline the ball in one "sweet" spot.

Rumored $225-250 per iron probably doesn’t meet the definition of reasonable.

Nowadays 175 seems to be the new norm sadly. So I would say 200 is the "reasonable-barrier", but I think your estimation might be right.

225-250 gives it pretty much no chance for me, too many other great choices out there

I hope you guys are right about the price, because the Japanese website has a stock steel price of ¥38,500. That converted from Japanese Yen to USD suggests that either this club is going to be really expensive, or Japanese irons are just all around more expensive.

Stock Steel (after tax) - ¥ 38,500 = $349.15 (post tax) or $317.40 (pre 10% Japanese sales tax)

Graphite (after tax) ¥ 41,800 = $378.85 (post tax) or $344.40 (pre 10% Japanese sales tax)

Well, I'll be - quick math 317.40x3= 952.20

$952 for a "set" of i59 - where / when do I place my order

Edit: Did y'all not remember $1699 Eye 2 circa '85?

So is this going to be like the g425 realese? Asia and Australia first, then the rest next year in the spring? If so, some people will be paying $$$$$ to get these early.

These will be in my bag next year! Anybody knows if MMT shafts will be offered?

We're all waiting to hear what the stock shafts are. Ping customer service said they'd be available, but they may end up being an upcharge.

Great, thanks! I have no problem to pay extra, just do not want to have to buy a set and get them re-shafted, which is even more expensive.
Hopefully the MMT wedge shafts will be an option for the new Wedges, too… One can dream, right?

Some "Google Translation" goodies...

A new structure blade iron "i59" that overturns conventional wisdom that combines feel, operability, and beauty.

The "aluminum core insert" mounted inside the soft iron forged head
creates a comfortable hitting feeling and hitting sound at impact, and the
new groove "Micromax Groove" that maximizes the frictional force demonstrates the ultimate spin performance. ..

The design that is distributed around the weight makes it resistant to miss hits and enables the flight distance control required by advanced players.

"Aluminum core insert" creates a solid feel

A new structure that has evolved to the optimum center of gravity position with a lightweight aluminum core insert mounted on the rear part of the 17-4 stainless steel face. The new structure head that produces a solid feel and hitting sound has excellent operability and realizes the ideal trajectory in various situations.

New groove "Micromax Groove" with excellent flight distance control and reproducibility
By optimizing the angle and spacing of each groove and increasing the number of grooves compared to the past, the frictional force and spin amount required in all situations are realized. Improved flight distance control performance and reproducibility even in the wet or rough.

Soft iron forged body with ultimate weight distribution
  • Soft iron forged 1025 carbon steel is used for the first time in the sharp and compact body. The excess weight due to the aluminum core insert is placed at the optimum location. Furthermore, it is equipped with a high specific density weight, and has evolved into the ultimate weight peripheral distribution design that is resistant to miss hits.

...it'll be interesting to see what all that techy talk translate to off grass.

Interesting that the face is gonna be 17-4. There’s so much going on here its hard to guess how much different it will feel than some old 17-4 such as s-series (ie, how soft will the forged body and aluminum insert make it feel anyway). I guess one thing we do know tho is if the face is 17-4, those grooves should play for a long time…..
