Best Older 3 Woods

I haven’t played a 3 wood in years and I am thinking about putting one in the bag. I’m looking for some recommendations, particularly older models, something that can be bought for around $100 or less. For what it’s worth, I’m not a fan of the deeper faced 3 woods and definitely prefer a lower profile. I’d love to hear some of the older models everyone has had success with in the past (or present).

TEE EX9. Dirt cheap now on the bay now. Have purchased 3 of them. Sound/feel and distance are tough to beat...especially considering current market $. You’ll thank me later ?

G25 3 wood in my bag for years now. Tested other 3 woods and the g25 feels better and out performed the likes of 917 and m2/4

Ping anything would be the best for having a shallow face. Best distance per dollar, cobra Ltd.

Exotics cb3 pro. Can be found for under$100. Small lower profile head with a titanium face. Nothing has been able to knock it out of the bag.

Wilson Staff FG tour F5. Very smooth performer, and very cheap. I found mine head-only on ebay for $15. Many on the bay sub $100, a handful sub $50. A very fun-to-hit club.

If you wanna go older still, the W/S fybrid may be your thing, very easy to get in the air.

Anybody ever try any of the Nike Vr str8-fit woods? I only ask because I saw a couple online for practically nothing.

Callaway XR16 is a shallow faced bomber. Can be found pretty cheap, probably around $75 and less.

The Callaway X2Hot Pro heads are low profile and are outstanding. Also the 815 and 816 fairways. I still have an X2Hot 5 Pro in the bag. Just so reliable. The Cobra F8 and F9 Tour heads are great too.

Cobra F8 is a great value. I think I got my F8+ new last year for $60-something on eBay.

Any Exotics from the past dozen years. Some can be found for under $50 shipped and they still have a lifetime warranty. Up until this year I gamed CB2's since they were introduced in 2007 and only changed because I broke the 5WD. ANd yes, Tour Edge replaced it with a new CBX 119, for free.

Ping G 3w and Cobra F8 3w both have delivered solid results for me at great value (as I recently upgraded my set on a budget via finding good used clubs from a couple years ago)

Callaway Diablo Octane Tour - if it was good enough for Stenson... The Diablo Edge Tour is equally as good.

 

Both offer solid, shallow faced performance and nice, compact heads. Good from tee or turf. Probably pick either one up with an aftermarket shaft for around $60.

If you want really old, Nike ignite T-60 3 wood, I still use this club and love it.
