The KF Tour and all the other feeder tours do a great job as a proving ground for up and coming players but the modern college game is doing as much if not more to get these young guys so ready for early success. Golf is in a good place.

Hopefully the USGA are taking note of the excitement this tournament delivered, though it's unlikely. I'm sure they'll be finding new ways to screw up the US Open next month.

I get the comparisons with early Spieth because they're both not bombers by PGA tour standards, but otherwise their games are quite difference. Morikawa is an average putter and exceptionally straight off the tee and Spieth was a great putter and wild at times off the tee.

Congratulations to Colin Morikawa. So nice to have a champion who plays like a champion. While Jason Day and Paul Casey we’re hitting weak layups into the bunker on 16 Colin pulls a driver and makes history. I’m so excited for this new generation of golfer. Colin along with Hovland, Wolff are ready to lead this next generation of golf. With Tiger playing limited events and Phil over 50 it’s time for an infusion of new talent. In addition Harding Park has produced Woods, McIlroy and Morikawa as champions while Olympic across the lake has produced, Webb, Jansen and Scott Simpson. You can decide who identifies the better champions. Harding Park and Colin Morikawa are the stars this week.

Agreed. Feels like Morikawa's golf swing is built a lot better to hold up over time. He does not need miracle scrambling to put up good scores. When he does have the A game on his putting/scrambling, he is gonna be extremely difficult to beat. The ballstriking is rock solid.

I like the comparison and had the same thoughts myself. Technically they might not be all that similar but they are both clutch AF and get the job done in the big moments. Come up with huge putts and chip ins in the biggest moments when needed. Both have/had that killer instinct Sunday down the stretch.
