First Ace Today

Got my first hole-in-one today. It was during play at our club with the regular Saturday morning guys. 109-yard par 3. I hit an easy 9 iron right in the middle of the face - nice, high, faded about 2 feet. One bounce and in. My two partners were already walking toward the green with their heads down when I looked over and said, "Hey guys. I think it went in." Pretty funny. My hole-in-one insurance at the club came in handy as we served a lot of drinks afterward. Played my best round ever at our very challenging course today.

Congrats well done play 65-100 rounds a year never had one never witnessed one but had my an eagle yesterday after a 7 year drought when I last had one

Came within 6 inches of an Ace about 10-12 years ago while golfing alone. Almost glad it didn't drop as I had no witnesses. Witnessed one of my buddies stick one on a 220 yard Par 3 and it was awesome.

Side note i think the hole in one getting buying Drinks is the Dumbest thing ever.

I got my first ace today. 183 yards, 6 iron. I hit it a groove or two low, which actually helped it go in. If I had flushed it, it would have hit and stopped quickly.  By thinning it just a bit, it allowed it to roll out a couple of yards and dive in the hole. 
 

There were about 10 people watching the shot, and everyone went crazy when it went in. It was exhilarating, especially with such an audience. When I got back to the clubhouse everyone was giving me high fives, congratulating me, etc. 
 

It was during a club event where there was an open bar afterward, so it ended up not costing me a fortune (thank God!). I agree that is the dumbest tradition ever, by the way.
