I did not start this.  I responded to an uneducated post that no one on this site could beat Lydia straight up.  I didn't talk about 13 year olds being better.  In fact I said it was just as anecdotal to say some 13 year old somewhere went crazy low one weekend.  Why are you attributing things to me that I didn't type?

There are numerous people on this site that would beat Lydia Ko, straight up, the majority of the time.  Plenty of very high level golfers are members here.  WTF is so hard to understand about that?

You really should take this comedy on the road once the places open back up

Actually, I was referring to CHIII and IF he was even on the board(I highly doubt it), hiding behind a UN, and yah, I know all the reasons why someone like him would choose to, it's just something that I'd expect from him, lol. As it was directed about him, I was certainly not suggesting that you were "supposed to f*ck CHIII," lol.

Also, I would never ask one to do something that I myself would not do, and as I wouldn't even Play a round with CHIII if offered, I sureTF would not "f*ck CHIII," so no, I was not suggesting that you should and apologies if it came across that way. Occasionally I can be an *sshole and come across a bit crass😉

Oh for chrissakes, there are not "numerous" WRXers who could beat Lydia😂😂😂😂

First, you're right Stinger, the SPIFster should definitely take this bullsh*t on the road😂😂

Instead of us meatheads🤪 goin back and forth, why don't we ask one of those members, who, if anyone is in that "numerous" category, he is, what his opinion is.....

@isaacbm, hey Bro, how goes it?

You and Lydia, could ya beat her? If so, if you Played her 10 rounds, how many would ya take?

Do you agree that there are "numerous" WRXers that could beat Lydia with money on the table(none of this sh*ts & giggles bullsh*t😉)?

Thanks Brotha, keep em straight and tight👊

Stay Well Stinger👊

Right now I’d be pretty hard pressed but a few years ago I’d say maybe 40% of the time.

I personally know at least six members on this site who are div one college golfers whos handicaps would be close to plus  7 quite literally.

There’s another guy on this site to has won 10 professional mini tour events in the last two years.

so I’d say there’s definitely a few people on here who I’d put against her.

Out of 650,000+ members, I'd say definitely "a few," lol

I figured 15-20, straight up🤷🏼‍♂️

Also, I agree 💯 with your comment regarding her having a better shot the longer the track was, per our discussion. Michelle was a machine with a 5i, her hybrids and FW metals in her hands, and as I said, she ain't Lydia, lol

Cheers🍻

As far as playing for money goes though, most of the people I know with experience like myself play better for money not worse. That’s the biggest difference between a plus one that used to be a +6 and a plus one that used to be a 6. I’d take the former as my partner every time.

THIS is Platumum!!!

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS, if given a choice in the matter, choose the Player who arrived at a 1~, scratch, +1, etc., taking the northern route versus one who travelled the southern path!!

ALWAYS‼️

D1 and +7?! Wow

I was reading DJs average index between 2016-2020 would be +6.5. With a high of +8.2 and a low of +4.3 in that time frame.

Of the top 50 ranked male college players, 31 have scoring averages under 71. That probably puts them in the +6 to +7 ballpark, no?

We’ve had massive threads  about this over the years.
I remember one year Bubba was 53 under the course rating for the week in one event. That’s four days in a row averaging 13 under. How could he possibly only be a +6?

Or how about the year the DJ won at Augusta at 20 under par? We’ve been told on this site that the rating is at least 79 so that means he was 48 under the rating.
That averages to 12 a day

I read that article and the numbers just don’t make any sense at all to me.

Remember that high slope ratings push negative differentials back up toward par.

So, imagine a par 72, 76.4 course with a 152 slope.

a 65 seems like it's a -11.4 differential, but it's really "only" a -8.5

Exactly why the “new” system doesn’t work in my brain.
it was easier to demonstrate the extreme difference between an elite pro and a scratch.  And more accurate in my opinion.

I get it. I just don’t agree with it.

Because he doesn’t do that every week?

I would be willing to bet that the +5’s presented by some posters do not have anywhere near as good an anti handicap that Ko would have. I believe I recall @Obeementioning this in some threads as well.

The very elite D1 would no doubt win a share but I believe Ko would hold her own.  Her scoring average has been below 71 every year going back to 2014…with half the seasons sub 70…..keep in mind she is only 24 now. When the D1 guys were in high school she was already averaging 69 point something professionally.

Of course it has. We used to not use slope to figure it out and now we do. I’m not talking about using the world system I’m talking about the way it was 35years ago. Slope came in around 1990 right?

This is my exact point. Slope changed the way handicap is calculated. It’s a good idea when trying to balance out a 2 handicap playing against a 12  handicap in the club matchplay. It isn’t a good way of comparing how good a tour pro is versus a scratch golfer though.

edit: What I mean is that obviously adding the slope system is a better way to create a fair match between players of different handicaps.

I just think as a general rule trying  to assign a handicap to a tour pro is often irrelevant.  At that level what is most important is their ability to shoot 4  low scores in a row.  That’s what really separates them from club players with a low handicap.
It’s better to shoot 69 4times in a row (week after week) then it is to shoot 76,69,62,76The  guy who shoots the latter 4  scores will actually have a lower handicap even though he can’t make a cut.
