2021 Titleist T200

I’m super torn. Have current T200 and went with them over P790. The Titleist work well, and I am shooting so e good scores. I occasionally get a jumper but but it’s usually a slight pull. I recently was warming up on the range and a buddy had just got his P790 set he ordered a month ago. I hit one for fun, and was blown away by the feel. Went back to my T200 and it felt downright harsh. I want to stick with Titleist but I have already pre ordered a gen3 P790 today, since I’ll get to hit the new T200 before the TM’s build. If you don’t mess around the T200 feel ok, but man there are way better feeling options out there with less offset. I believe the current iteration of both sets were reputably the same fogiveness so I am regretting selling my P790.

Troy Merritt just made a hole in one with a T200 5 iron. They replayed it a few times and sound was ok but not as solid sounding as a solid forged club. I guess to be expected. Looks like a lot of T200 long irons in the bag this week so must be pretty good overall.

Just watched the video. Kind of impossible to tell anything on the sound from that video what the head is made of. Plus, given the fact there is clearly a hot melt port on those heads, who knows how that will sound in comparison to a retail head, as that could be glued any number of ways. Just my 0.02...

Yep, and here is a pic of the T200 club they showed on TV...

It’s 2021; how does anyone belong to an online forum, hold new unreleased clubs people are drooling over and just think “nah, I won’t take a picture”

Super jealous nonetheless.

It likely wasn't "nah I won't take a pic"  It was more likely, "Put your phones away"  Any pic he took would most likely be the last time he got to see something in advance.

If you are worried about jumpers I wouldnt be moving to P790!

Just held the T200 in my hand, sorry no pics.  They look great.  Blade length is the same as the T100.  Sole is a little wider with 90 grams of tungsten in the head, forged face.  I think they be the same loft so a mixed set will be easy to transition to.  The top line is just a little thicker than the T100, but I could still drool 🤤 I think these will be a winner for Titleist!!!

T200 same loft as T100?  That would be a big change from previous wouldnt it?  From memory T100 has been more traditional lofts and AP3/T200 more jacked lofts by about 4 degrees.

Does anyone know what material they used for the back of the 200's? I wonder how it will hold up.

It’s been discussed multiple times throughout this thread (although it’s a pain to look for)…essentially, no one knows for sure, but the consensus is that we will all be very disappointed if it’s plastic lol. The previous Gen T200 had issues with paint chipping off the badge…or at least a couple people experienced that.

Thanks for the info. I did see where it was previously discussed, but I thought since there were more in hand photos now someone may have the scoop. Definitely hope it's not plastic!

Yeah I asked about the back plate early on if it was plastic/polymer or metal and got a lot of it would cheap of Titleist to use plastic. Figured yeah maybe it's some metal until I saw the post of the current T200 and the paint chipped away. If these are like this that puts them on the no buy list for me, sort of leaning back towards Mizunos MP22 as I originally planned, just waiting to see them

I currently game a set of T200, and briefly owned a set Mizuno JPX 921 HMP… the Mizuno are literally plastic backs. The Titleist have held up so far, I have not seen any chipping or wearing, but others clearly have.

My pro just got for his set of Titleist today and said that the new T200 are very close to T100 from address. Less offset for sure, the only knock he had was that the feel was muted. Kinda like P790, in that you get a little less feedback on exact strike location. The back is definitely metal he told me, no concern of badging or anything. New soles go through turf very well he said, overall the guys were excited. Our director of instruction was going to combo T100-S with T200 but said he just liked the feel of the T100 better.

They would let us peons see them, just like last release. I guess Titleist pics a central club in each area and has the local pros get fit there for the new stuff. His will be in by end of month I guess, official release is aug I think. Seems like the offset amount has been reduced which was my biggest nitpick, but won’t know until we actually see them.

Happy to hear the backs are metal!

Some are saying they’re polymer and some are saying they’re metal… are the pro versions different or something? Can anyone confirm what the backs are made of?

I've never seen them, but I would be extremely surprised if they were metal, just unnecessary weight oh and cost that they can put elsewhere.
