2021 Titleist T200

Recommended Posts

Just pulled the trigger on the T 200, sight unseen, 4 - P, steel fiber i110 shafts (up charge).  First time playing graphite shaft, but hoping this is one my last sets………..58 yo, playing to about an 9 handicap……loving recent Titleist products, drivers and hybrids.  Not concerned about all the talk bout the back of the iron, could care less if it performs.   The TSi3 Driver is much more muted than the TSi2, but I still play both drivers because I like the performance.

I'm a 3hcp and I would say A LOT.

I play with an older gentleman that is a +1 or +2 and he hits everything 1/2 ball towards the toe.  He has a dime sized wear spot on his irons almost at the end of the grooves.  One of the best ball strikers I know, and he never hits the sweet spot.

I think it's time to upgrade from my CB 712's and these are very intriguing.  I have no issue with distance at all and I want to stick with my current lofts, however the T200's are 3-5 degrees stronger than my current set.  Would adjusting the lofts that much have a huge impact on the performance?

I'm leaning towards the T100's, but I don't get to play and practice as much as I used to, so I was thinking the T200's might be a little more helpful.

I would think the T100 are probably more forgiving than the 712 CB you are moving away from.  Give them both a swing and see what you like better.  The T100 have quite a bit of tungsten from 3-7 and the 712 had none.  From a shaping point of view, I’m sure they will look pretty similar.

You may like the t200 and will just have to get use pulling a 7 iron instead of a 6 iron.

So I saw the irons, yes it is plastic/polymer whatever you wanna call it, however, it does not feel/look cheap like he made it seem (at least to me), I don't exactly pick up a club and start hitting the back of it with my fingers.  If that's what you do before every shot then this club is not for you.  I have the previous gen T200 in mid/long irons and don't have a single issue with the backing.  Also, they can't just slap metal there, there is so much tungsten low they need to keep weight of the club.  Touching carbon drivers gives you the same feeling of cheap plastic, there is nothing about carbon that makes it feel expensive (my personal opinion), so to each their own.

Great Post and point. The things that some of us amateur's get worked up over, that aren't even a  2nd thought for pros that put these their bags is quite puzzling.

Exactly, you or anyone who doesn't like the way the back feels to the touch of a finger does not need to buy them. They will sell a ton of them regardless of what anyone thinks, you have choices and it’s up to the consumer to decide what you spend your money on.  And if they don't sell them then consumers have spoken and they will need to change it. Simple economics 101 supply and demand and equilibrium.

I think the old ones looks alot better... havent seen new ones in person tho. From here it looks like a wedge vs a real iron... should have used it their vokey line lol.

Really great release and timing by Titleist on these. Both Mizuno and PING are going to lose a ton of potential sales due to pushing their release dates back.

TM a bit also. Although it’s launch is coming very soon.

Yeah I agree as long as Titleist is able to supply the clubs in a timely manner. Some people may decide waiting another 5-6 months on Miz/Ping too long.

The old t200's in 8-W looked just fine but that "max impact" screw in the 4-7 was the cheesiest marketing gimmick I've seen in a players iron in quite some time.

I see that the Tensei AV White AM2 are a shaft option with a $14 upcharge.

I think I will ask "my guy" to pre-order me 5-GW with that shaft in Stiff.  I'm normally a Mizuno guy with Steelfibers, but am flirting with Srixons ZX's this season.  I have never given a set of Titleist irons a serious go for the main bag ( never got onto the AP2 bandwagon over the years ) but really like the look and tech of the new T200.

I was thinking about a combo set with the t100, 4 and 5 in the t200 and 6-PW in the t100. I'm still concerned with the gaping because of lofts between the t200 5 and the t100 6 has anyone else thought about a combo set in the configuration?

I am doing similar - just going to bend them 2 degrees weaker each and see where the gapping goes from there

I just ordered the t100 6-PW, a degree strong, and the 4/5 in t200 standard.  Puts a 4 degree gap between 5 and 6 which is the same as the 6 to 7 gap.  Gaming the 921 Forged at the moment which I like a lot but I feel like I'm catching more 6/7/8 iron heaters with the strong lofts.  Almost went t100s a degree weak but the goal is consistency over distance.

Of course it'll be a month probably before they get to me so no real feedback for quite a while, but it'll be a fun comparison when they arrive.

A Pro told me that the 2019 T200 irons are more forgiving than the 2021 version, also the offset and weight shifting.

He told me that the new T200 plays similar like the T100s

I played the CB 712's for years and were my favorote club of all time. I moved to last years T100-S and right after i received them, the new model was offered. I played 4 rounds with the T100-s and was amazed at how forgiving they were vs the CB 712.  I dont ;like to use the term "game changer" but for me, hitting one towards the toe with the T100-S was VERY forgiving......if i do that on the CB, I am assured a horrible result. The T100-s....its really really different and you are not punished. I literally will say a bad strike is 50% better on the T100-S...

I ordered the new T100-S irons and have last years model on sale for CHEAP.....if you are interested head to the classifieds for pics

i was told the exact opposite....

the T200 offset is similar to the T100 but the construction is geared for forgiveness....my pro said the two clubs blend very well, but the T200 is definitely more forgiving and definitely longer due to its construction.
