Look like they got a “Little chunkier” like most of us over the holidays. Little wider soles and more weight in the top line. Just wish they would straighten that front edge a touch more. May have to get some custom grinded from wedgeworks.

Not enjoying how rounded those leading edges are, haven't played Vokey since SM6 but i'm sure they were way straighter... these are almost as round as Pings were in their heyday, not a fan at all 😞 gutted!

Thought the leading edge was a bit rounded when I first saw them but then went and looked at the SM8s and there isn't much of a difference.

 

I always find it hard to determine whether I like a shape until I see it in person.

People think these leading edges are too rounded? Do you guys never open your wedge up at all? They look fine to me.

It’s a wedge. Similar to Rolex, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It’s not going to do anything that you don’t make it do.

I'm a huge Rolex fan (and mechanical watch fan), and fully agree with this take. 😂 I think that's what makes them timeless and desired. No major departures in looks going from a 5513 to a 124060.

 

Back to the wedges, these SM9s look good to my eye. I'm curious how Titleist will explain any differences from the SM8s.

Why on earth would they make more than subtle changes to their product line?  They are hands down the most preferred wedge on tour.  Why risk that by doing something drastic?  They only come out with a new wedge line every few years.  Most golfers should be replacing wedges more than every 2 years.  Subtle changes allows you to both keep the loyal users you have built up over the years, but also take care of your retailers who want to have something new to push to the crowd that wants the next big thing.  

 

They would be crazy to drastically alter the offering.

So the SM8s added tungsten to help move the COG toward the toe just a bit. I'm curious to hear about what they did on SM9 because it appears the tungsten is gone.

Just with the T grind would have made it to retail. They look good, heard something about lower flight so interested in the tech if so.

Makes sense from it looking like most of the weight is higher. I definitely need the lower flight for sure

Looks like SM7 and SM8 had a baby. Any new tech story to these? Is there any way to improve on vokeys at this point.
