Exactly this.  And the other question to ask is, how many other times has he done this, without it being caught on camera?  If he's not "cheating" because he was caught and penalized, what about all the times he wasn't caught and penalized?  Over the course of his career, what percentage of bunkers shots has PR hit where there was a TV crew behind him?  Maybe 5%?  10%?  What's he been up to the other 90 or 95% of the time?  How many other times has he blatantly improved his lie?  I mean it's not like he said 'oops I made an honest mistake' and called the penalty on himself there.

Yep. And I'd highlight that people saying this aren't saying it because they're pro-PGAT or anti-PR and suddenly criticizing Larry Klayman because of this case. 

 

I had heard of Larry Klayman LONG before this suit. And as an engineer, if you're a lawyer and I've heard of you, it's either because you are REALLY good at what you do, or you're a legendary clown. 

 

In this case it's the latter.

It was literally impossible that he was going away with anything since the camera was a few feet behind him. They all know the TV zooms in on the ball all the time. Rory McIlroy thinks of course it looks bad, but that he wasn't thinking, was just part of his pre-shot routine, and was just really locked into the shot. I tend to agree because I don't see how he was trying to get away with something deliberately with the camera right there. Also,  it was a waste bunker and he was able to ground his club.
