Nice to see Brooke bouncing back after a rough day yesterday. Currently four under after 10 holes. 

 

Scoring looks tough out there, but "Posh" did finish her round at 5 under for the day to get back to even par for the week.

Leaders tee off at 10:30 and coverage doesn't start until 1pm which they will talk for 15 minutes before turning to live golf.  After all the commercials on NBC which mainly will be political news commercials we might see possibly 1 1/2 hours of coverage. What a joke.

Did they move up times because of weather and it’ll be tape-delayed? Maybe streaming will be live?

Well, this got interesting quickly. We'll see what the weather brings tomorrow, but it could be a factor in a dramatic finish.

The schedule hasn't changed. Coverage was scheduled to start at 1 pm. They're playing in threesomes, so things will be a little slower that the first three rounds. I assume we'll see the final group on the 11th or 12th hole.

I expect the wind to have a bigger factor on play than anything else.  35% chance of rain may soften the course a bit, but 15-20 mph winds will cause more small misses than the first 3 days.  That is why I said the tournament would be won from inside 75 yards.  

 

I think it plays into Lydia's game the best.  Short game becomes more important when the weather causes small misses.  I expect to see fewer GIR across the field.  That brings scrambling ability to the top.

I always preferred my player to have their "off round" on Friday or Saturday while we still had time to recover.  A bad Thursday round could kill her confidence (and bring the cut into play) and a bad Sunday round can't be recovered from.  Mediocre on Friday or Saturday isn't as bad.  

 

Crazy to say that a -2 round was mediocre but that's the expectation she's created this year.

If the R4 conditions are as bad as they were talking about in the coverage, I think Leona will win fairly comfortably.

 

Gemma might run her the closest but too far back now I recheck the leaderboard.

 

Would be exciting to see a Leona/Lydia duel out in testing conditions.

That is exactly what I suspect happened.  Leadership/PR team passed along (or failed to) the invites.

I haven't been too impressed with the new leadership of the LPGA so far.....       Wahn did a lot for the tour, and the new CEO hasn't capitalized on any of it.

Just double-checking... the non-attendance by LPGA players = for the CME clients dinner? Or for the Pro-Am? Or for both?

Should LPGA players receive monetary incentives to attend these CME client dinners...eg linked to an LPGA PIP-style bonus, or other? I’m guessing the LPGA players were focused on the competition / big payday ie if attendance = optional, then they won’t attend?
Perhaps mandate (or incentivise) attendance for CME-sponsored players?

The players are all getting a minimum $40,000 for showing up, so a bit of pay back should be requisite, i.e. part of the contract.

 

But it seems like a leadership issue, again! I mean, good golly Miss Molly.

That player absence from the CME dinner is super embarrassing for the LPGA (obviously).

 

It's also super embarrassing for the CME CEO, execs like that don't like being made to look foolish in front of their special clients, particularly when putting up such a large sponsorship, hence his public comment.

 

Molly will need to do something to make up for this issue, just a commitment that it won't happen again won't cut it IMO. She can do it, lots of options she can organise eg have selected players attend a future CME client seminar.

typical Beth Ann leaving out facts from the story. 

 

LPGA was tasked with asking 11 girls to attend the dinner with the carrot that Serena Williams would be speaking. once Serena canceled the 11 players decided not to go (not great). LPGA staff didn’t relay that info to Terry and then Terry tries to acknowledge the 11 players and looks bad and now here we are with the crazy rich guy pissed off. 

 

Some grumbling behind the scenes on how Mollie is handing certain things from players and now this.
