Before I stripped the top one, I read a thread where someone was saying there's some kind of coating on the metal that makes them less prone to rusting or something? There was someone who was trying to make them rust deliberately that was struggling to make them rust too.

 

My criticism of the black would be that it doesn't last well at all.

That is 100% the reason I stripped mine. My league partner has the black and they just don’t hold up well. Got mine Tuesday and stripped them on Friday.

They almost look like the Mizunos in this photo.

 

Anyway, they're not bad looking or anything, but not an improvement on the SM9s in that department either imo. So if I do get new wedges this year it's going to be MG4s or Ping s159s

I would imagine the pic is displaying the stock finishes. Looks like tour chrome/jet black similar to what has been offered over the few releases and what looks to be a new finish replacing brushed steel (looks much grayer than any past black nickel).

From an aesthetic standpoint they look ok but personally I like the look of the Mizuno T24’s better.  Have to test to see.   I get it all the bounce options Vokey offers which can be nice but its too a point where not sure how much is too much.  What we play and what the pro’s play are two totally different scenarios.  I’ve accepted the fact I will never be Justin Thomas.  🙂.   I’m also curious if these are a complete forged head or just cast again.

It’s weird how Mizuno and Vokey have flip flopped aesthetically.
 

The SM10 looks like a T22 with its badging and now the T24 looks like a SM9.

Problem with T22 was their sole width was way too wide. Additionally the bounce grind options got Mizuno historically have been lacking. T24 was a step in the right direction on both fronts.

They don’t look terrible but it doesn’t have me itching to buy them. I ordered 4 sm9’s a month ago not expecting any major changes. Sm9s are the first vokeys that worked for me so I felt no reason to change

Yep, they're the same. But when you absolutely dominate the category, where's the motivation to upset the apple cart? I imagine SM10's will do very well on tour and at retail, no surprises here.

Seemed like 10 was a great opportunity to go for a refresh, at least cosmetically. Bummer it's just the 9 but in bold, but i'm sure they'll be great nonetheless

Vokey has likely pushed the line as far as he/team are willing to. There is only three areas they really lag the competition in:

 

1 - Full face grooves which we know they will never bring out as Vokey has said multiple times he sees no point.

2 - Wet weather / face roughness, who knows maybe the SM10 has something hiding up its sleeve for this.

3 - Forged wedges which we know outside of the JDM space, they won’t bring out.

 

 

Could technically say 4 if you want to include a more game improvement style wedge like Callaway CB, CBX2, S23, etc which again likely will never come out.
