Mine are shipped and should be here soon.  I have some MTB-X for direct comparison - I might have a MTB Black as well in there somewhere.

 

I might end up in the Prime actually even though I've been playing the X.  We'll see!

One product being better than another doesn’t mean that the other is trash. There have also been plenty of examples historically of great tour pros endorsing inferior equipment for a big payday (and even more examples of pros switching immediately at the first chance of contractual freedom ie Nike). 
 

As for TSU vs TPU, there are differences but there are also other construction variables that can be adjusted to compensate to fit a particular performance target. What is more difficult to compensate for is feel and durability (TSO gets the nod for both IMHO). Historically, I have tended to like the feel of TSU over TPU (well before I knew of the distinction), but I would open to a TPU design bucking that trend (the Srixon ZStar has been the closest for me).

For those who have received shipping notices, did you order the test pack or a full box of either the Prime or the Prime X? Just curious, I ordered the test pack around 8am last monday, and haven't received any shipping information. 

 

I would have assumed they would have first started filling the orders that came in first.

Front page indicates a 'pre-sale' status.  Orders from 4/3 'pre-sale' shipping now (4/10-4/12).  '2nd shipment' orders shipping 4/20-4/25.

I ordered the morning it went on presale. One dozen test pack. I got a shipping email today. 
 

For what it’s worth, I remember the site saying it wouldn’t ship until about 4/13.

I ordered 2dozen Prime the first day of the presale and they arrived late last week. I was out of town, so haven’t played them yet. Looking forward to playing them Saturday.

Played 9 holes with the Prime yesterday. Distance was very good and spun great around the greens, the cover also held up well over 9 with a shot or 2 off the trees.

I thought the prime felt softer than the previous ball, but I will keep that more in mind during my round today I was focused on distance and around the green stuff yesterday.

That's the precise and sole reason that I never finished the MTB B's that I have. They were just a little to hard and clicky for me. Quality ball for sure. Just didn't quite have the feel for me.

LOL, if they had arrived earlier I would have played them today. 🙂

 

I will say that @mtsander commented about marking the cover with a Sharpie...the Prime X seems normal but when I marked a Prime, the dot I filled in kind of "evaporated" with a hole in the middle, had to add a little more ink to get it to stay. Will see how long it survives with use.

I had the same problem with marking the MTB Black.  Ink did not stay as well as other balls I have used.  I have a test pack coming - look forward to testing and all of the other testers views.  Not sure they will be my ball but love the whole idea of Snell - so want to support.

Got my MTB Primes a couple days ago.  Haven't had a chance to play with them yet, but they feel hard and cheap compared to MTB Blacks.  Really conflicted here. Hopefully they play alright!

I played 27 holes with the Prime and I think it was considerably softer than the MTB Black. I hit a few trees and had 3 bunker shots and the ball is still in pretty good shape. Overall I am impressed with the new ball the distance was very good into the wind and performed great around the greens.

Gave the Prime X a try in my 9 hole league yesterday evening. Previously had played the MTB-X, Bridgestone XS and most recently the Mafli Tour X. Was a little worried as our first round of the season was designated for the most difficult of the 4 9 hole options we play, plenty of chances to lose a ball or two (or three!).

 

Overall the Prime X seems pretty similar to the Maxfli, both pretty firm. Distance on drives was fine, same for iron shots. A little tough to tell on chipping/putting because the greens we had were really slow and furry. Made a 12' par putt on the first hole only because my partner had a 15' right before me and he smashed it so hard to get it to the hole. I would have been well short otherwise. Second hole pulled my drive a bit left and caught the cart path.

Ball #1 met its demise on the 5th hole, a tough 190 par 3 with a green surrounded by wetlands. Caught the hybrid a bit thin and it didn't carry. Ball #2 was lost on the next hole, 5 iron again tugged a bit left and caromed off a tree to an unknown destination. Fortunately the 3rd ball made it though the rest of the round.

 

Will be giving the Prime a try today.

I don't know if I got a bad batch or something, but I played with the Prime yesterday, and the ball just feels so hard and clicky.  It doesn't even feel like a urethane cover.  I need to compare the measureables on my SkyTrak, but it feels really bad off the putter.  I always played the MTB Black until the supply shortages, and I've been playing Maxfli Tours since then.  Both of them feel like butter compared to the Prime.

Today I gave the Prime a go. Definitely seemed softer and as advertised, more spin on iron shots for me. I do find that these Snells have an affinity for asphalt though. Especially on the left side of holes. 🤔

 

 

To me they seem pretty comparable to the Maxflis. Will keep playing the rest of the trial pack but I could play either one, Prime seems a little nicer with the softer feel on putts.
