I think my IPhone’s Frequently Visited tabs let the new logo slip.

I am digging the new logo

I hope it makes it on the ball

Maybe black and red

Of course I will still play the ball no matter what is on the ball

Wow that's not a good looking logo. Keeping the Snell name with a better looking font w/o the large S than current would seem to be a better option IMO.

It’s all speculation until we see the goods tomorrow.
My guess is very minimal improvements made. Maybe a different aerodynamic package or core and mantle mix to make the Black a little bit comparable to the Left Dot PROv1 though the black wasn’t necessarily a high launcher anyway. I say this because it was a very desirable ball but, we all know how Titleist is at marketing and small batch releases. Maybe a less pronounced seam as that was a sticking point for some. New logo could be a lock. Most likely new names.
We will see soon.

It's one of those things that make me think "why".  Why put that big a** seam in there?  It was there on the TP Red and I loved that ball, It's on the MTB and I love that ball butt, does it really need to be there?

Tool and die costs can't be cheap and getting rid of the seam would take new tooling.  I wonder if any of the tooling are left overs from the TP Red and Black days?

I got into golf after those golf balls were made. I really started playing when TP5 just released so, a few years after it's release. I'm not an engineer. Definitely not a designer. I know some of those guys and they have answers for every little thing you could ask about the golf ball.

My guess that is could be a cheaper method to fuse both halves together. Making ball molds with perfect "seamless" alignment may require more cost in some method, whereas Dean is probably trying to keep product going at low $30 a dozen.

I can't say I personally noticed the seam while playing and know it definitely didn't impact the balls performance. Just an aesthetic that was noticed.

The 360 LDP pattern was developed while Dean was VP of ball development at TM and was used as their primary pattern until 2013 when they introduced their current primary 322 layout. Visible seam or no, the LDP pattern is still performs well. If Dean sticks with Nassau, changing the dimple pattern would largely be to appease customer criticism which IMHO would not be worth the effort.

With exception to the big 5 who OEM their own factories, the R&D cost associated with developing a new pattern tends to outweigh the benefit. This is why most of the smaller/DTC brands stick to their white label factory’s off the shelf pattern (not to mention the added retooling cost).

New Snell balls are LIVE!

MTB Prime and MTB Prime X

Initial takeaways:

- New logo and font look sharp

- Glad to see value pack pricing back at $29.99…makes it the best deal in the market and on par with Maxfli

- I think I’ll need to try both again to figure out which ball I prefer

I felt that the MTB Black spun too much for me and that the X had perfect iron and driver spin. Not sure how I feel about firming up the Prime X and lowering spin.

I play yellow, so I’ll have to wait until that’s released to buy. Also, wondering when Ballnamic will get data on the new release. I’m trying out the Bridgestone X S because of its recommendation.

Dang, I’m bummed about the new balls. I feel like the mtb-x is a perfect fit for me with the firm, high launch, high spin. There is no longer a fit for me if these ball perform how they say. Back to the V1x I suppose.

Was the x 4piece?

Anyways I loved the mtb x too. It was my favorite.

Going to try new Px.

Love the new logo too

My order has been placed…. Ordered the prime, also bought new 23 prov1 so will have nice comparison….

I Do like new logo/packaging/font/alignment aid. Def more modern, timeless.

I’m undecided on the “Snell Golf” script on the ball…………I mean I know it’s a golf ball….I can’t think of another ball that has “golf” written on it, but I’m sure I’m just forgetting. No big deal though. Overall Def an improvement in the marketing/design Dept.

Excited to have new products. Thanks Dean!

Based on this chart, it kind of looks like the Prime is the Prov1/TP5/Tour BXS/Z-Star types (softer, spinnier, lower) and the Prime X is the -Prov1, TP5x/Tour BX/Z-Star XV types (firmer, longer, higher). Obviously we'll see what the data says about them, but very excited to try these out.

Considering this is a 3 piece ball and not a 5 piece ball. I would say it is not the old TP5 ball. lol..

Already ordered my test pack! I suspect I’ll like the X better due to the higher trajectory and firmer feel but we’ll see. Very pleased to see prices where they are, and shipping was only $5 for the 1 dozen I bought. As soon as I pick the Prime or the Prime X I’ll get the bulk pack.
