Is it just you two going out to golf, or will there be other people along in the group (assuming they're not other attractive females)? I think joining along in a foursome of the hot realtor with 2 other dudes is a much easier sell than just you and her playing alone together.

I would tell my wife and go. It would be better if there were at least one or two other guys in the group. Does her husband, if any, play? I play golf with my best friend's wife a few times per year when he isn't available and neither he nor my wife cares. If it were an invitation to play Podunk Municipal with the real estate agent, I'd probably decline.

This is absurd OP. You're getting a round of golf at a course you've been wanting to play AND you get to play with an attractive golfing woman? GO.

 

If you're a creep and are gunna be hitting on the lady the whole time then you have bigger problems. If you're going to enjoy a nice round and are professional and not flirty then there is no problem.

 

You and the wife need to have a conversation if she's jealous of this type of stuff. If you give her a reason to be jealous, again, you have bigger problems.

 

Finally, are you a good looking dude? Maybe the real estate lady has some bad intentions and you need to be on the lookout! I mean, she already knows how much money you make so there's that...

It shouldn't matter how hot the realtor is, you should be able to interact appropriately everyone and your wife should trust you to do so.

OP, my bet is the RE agent wants to get better at golf and hopes to find a solid playing partner who will view it nothing more as a friendly/professional round of golf. If she is a member of the club and attractive im sure shes had her fair share of rounds were she gets paired with some a******(s) who is sexist/creepy/egotistical/always trying to offer tips/etc/or all of the above and would love a to just play a casual round without all of that pressure, especially since she knows you are married and you know she is married.

 

Or she knows you swing an xflex shaft and wants to shag in the cart barn.

 

Either way, tell the wife, play the round, figure out her intentions and go from there.

My best case scenario would be this:

 

Ask her to bring her spouse along and you bring your spouse along. Even if your wife wants to just "ride along"

 

Who knows, maybe you could form a couples friendship out of it and enjoy more golf in the future.

 

That way, you get to play golf and your wife won't be upset even if she tells you "it's fine" that you go alone.

My wife and I met and were married 2 months later. We have been married 20 yrs now. I have always been honest and up front with her. IMO I would tell your wife and then go from there. By not telling her you turn something innocent into sounding fishy.

On a more serious note though: something very similar happened to me. A female friend invited me to a Tour event that she had VIP tickets for. It was a chance that doesn't come around often, and I knew the wife would be jealous, so I went and didn't tell her...

 

I'll spare you the long story, but the fight when she found out that I went was not worth it. Made our relationship stronger in the end, because she had to get over some trust issues, but hindsight is 20/20. If I had to do it over again, I would set tell her

 

So take everybody's advice and tell her. Hopefully she says yes, but if not, maybe it brings up a conversation that you might need to have
