Probably not the smartest thing to say but again who cares. I think many things in sports that are considered tradition are stupid. like playoff beards in Hockey or not wanting to touch a conference championship trophy in the major sports cause it's not the true prize and could be bad luck. Even though I think they are stupid, doesn't mean I care about it one way or the other. It's just a point of view, sadly today when point of view doesn't conform with others it all of a sudden becomes an offense.

Great hard-earned win for Pernilla! I was happy for her to get that first win a major. I was rooting for Jess Korda, but it was easy to root for Pernilla after Jess fell out of the lead. We'll probably be seeing more of Pernilla this season, but I do wish she'd speed up a bit. I know the importance of a pre-shot routine, but her's is just a little too much.

Pernilla deserved the win. She had the stones to pull hybrid on 18 on the 7th playoff hole. Nice to see new winners on tour from other countries, good for golf overall

The ANA is really the only ladies event I watch all year as I have played that course half a dozen times

The Butler Cabin jacket deal is way worse than the pond leap. I actually get uncomfortable watching it, Nantz and all the canned and contrived words and actions

That Butler Cabin business is a waste of time. Why they don't air the outside presentation and skip the awkwardness of the indoor deal is beyond me.

Anyone else feel that Inbee played too tight and conservative this morning.....I think she hit all of her approach shots short of the hole.

She's also a great putter and surprisingly left a couple of birdie putts short.

 

I think Inbee was just trying to survive hole by hole thinking that Pernilla would eventually bogey .......handing Inbee the win.

 

Annika kind of played this way too....knowing her competition would eventually falter and hand her the win because Annika was so consistent.

 

Previous to the ANA......I was always neutral on Pernilla....her Kevin Na stalls were a bit annoying....but ya....I'm happy she won because she went for 18 in two and played for the win.

It was severely into the wind late afternoon/evening yesterday.

With some great drives....even Lexi, Jessica and Charley needed FW or hybrids to get to the 18th green in two yesterday....if there was no wind and a great drive...those gals can normally reach with an iron with the tees moved up.

The thing I do wish they would get rid of is the caddie line up stuff... I don't know why they don't just make it against the rules already for pete's sake.

 

 

Banning the caddies from lining up players is part of the new 2019 rules package. It's not official yet, but it's all but a done deal.

I predict the winner will be aged at least 30 this year...

 

For once got that right - first LPGA win at 32 and a major too! Unbelievable - I was thinking more of Inbee who's 30 this year.

 

Does anyone know if the winners of majors are younger or older than the rest of the tournaments as a general rule? I was guessing older.......

 

Lately I'd say the trend has been younger. Lydia, Brooke, Ariya, In Gee, Sung Hyun, Danielle.

What did she do?

 

If I remember correctly, as she walked down the path along the stands on the way to the 18th green, she never acknowledged any of the fans who had their hands out while her playing partner slapped hands all along the way. I'm not sure she ever even glanced into the stands.

 

I'm pretty sure it was her. But I could be mistaken.

I remembered seeing Kevin Na at PGA championship few years ago and he was damn slow but now he seems to be much better.

 

Maybe she can improve later?

Was really pleased to see the number of fans out this morning. Outside the U.S. Open, it’s usually family and officials. That was a healthy crowd.

 

Haven’t enjoyed a tournament this much in a long time.
