Is there a pic of the 410 PLUS crown anywhere??

I like what I see so far.

I posted this yesterday from the Cool Clubs video

Not a fan of the top, but the bottom looks clean. Not sure why, but the top reminds me of laces on a football.

I think the no-upcharge Evenflow Black 75 will probably work well for me by the numbers. My local Country Club has a fitting cart so when the pro shop opens back up 3/1, I will have tax return in hand. I’m going to give Ping a shot at irons and woods. The more I read on here, the more Ping impresses me. I was going to go all Taylor Made but they just seem so gimmicky and questionable. Sounds like Ping clubs come the way they are ordered and TM custom clubs are all over the place. Also sounds like Ping customer service is top notch. Just wish the 410 LST was releasing at the same time. May have to get a 400 LST or game a 410 until the LST comes out. Maybe the pro will let me trade the 410 back in towards the LST when it is available.

Not sure what the fuss is over a new adapter. It’s usually around $15 for one and a quick pull and epoxy job. Even if you have to take it to a shop they usually charge $10 at the most for an adapter pull.

I’m a complete club building noob and can even epoxy an adapter with no issues.

Hey, I can pull the adapter and have many times but, you can ask anyone who does work with pulling, you run the risk of applying too much heat and screwing up the tip. even bought a golfworks hydraulic puller but no matter what, the risk is there and you have to be super careful to clean the tip of the epoxy and not sand too much and remove more graphite from the tip area. So, it's not just add epoxy to any adapter...

They've had the same adapter for a while now. Bound to change some point.

All I am saying is that I think the timing is wrong to change the adapter.

Going from the G30 to the G, Ping had a chance and they did not.

As strange as the 'dragonfly' looked on the G400 drivers I've gotten used to it and now this image with a completely different top looks weird and to be honest unappealing. The bottom images look clean but the top just doesn't look right at all. And the comment about looking like football laces is spot on. Hopefully it looks better when they officially release it, but I'm not switching from my Max anytime soon.

Wondering how much improvement there could be over the Max for someone who doesnt need the weight track adjustability?

All I am saying is that I think the timing is wrong to change the adapter.

Going from the G30 to the G, Ping had a chance and they did not. If they did people would have complained they did it after only one generation the way they did from the G25 to G30 change

Going from the G to G400, Ping had a chance and they did not. People would have complained that all their G30 and G shafts were no good anymore.

Only now then they go from G400 to the G410, they change the FREAKING tip now. Why not keep it for one more iteration? Let's face it people are going to complain whenever a company changes the adaptor. This time its your turn. :o

Does the G400 Max have a neutral, closed or open bias?

I think it depends on the head.

G400 Max are all the same unless they're able to be adjusted. I'm wondering if they're set up neutral or not.

Sets up slightly closed to my eye on standard setting. Lowered the loft a click to open the face and now sits square for me

It looks slightly closed also to me, that's why I asked the question, but at least it's fixable, so you're saying if it was a 10.5 you adjusted it to 10 and that opened it up a bit?

For me it's the ability to easily demo/compare if a shaft already works for you. The stock G400 Alta CB shaft didn't work for me at all. Fortunately I was able to demo the KK (and others) at a Ping rep day and that's what I ordered

Alternate shaft options are limited often here, especially on new releases. So if I was anxious to try the new G410 (I'm not) I'd want to compare head to head and shaft to shaft with what I already have and like. With a different adapter I'm unlikely to even "kick the tires on the new model.

Ah, heck. I'm heading south tomorrow till the end January so maybe I'll take a peek and test at the PGA Superstore in Palm Desert if it's in before then. Do we have an exact release date or when demos might be available at PGS SS?

I don’t have the exact dates so don’t quote me on this, but was in my local grass roots shop today and the Manager thought the irons should be in sometime in February. But he thought the driver release date was going to be in March.

Why not just post the video here since it's out and public on Youtube and has not been taken down by Ping:

This guy talking about "rumors" but has the drivers next to him and showing them off. Had to call in favors to have info on the G410 plus?! :D Whaaaaat

IMO in this video the G410 does looks lot better then in the blurry screencaptures, like the color also a lot better in the flesh. Profile is a lot closer to G400 Max then normal G400.

But they have also gone to something new with the moveable weight so it’s not like it’s just a tweak to the g400. I’m with you and it would be nice to be able to use shaft I have from my g400 or ones I was looking to test in the g400 imo this was the best time. They are trying to improve on the g400 and their position against the Callaway and TMs and maybe even Titleist so they needed to make changes.

I'm headed to Orlando next Saturday evening for a week. I absolutely PROMISE I'll take pictures of everything PING has at the Show. Front, back, sides, slides, crown, face, etc. I'll ask every question under the sun of the folks in the area they have in the convention center.

I personally think all of this, "It's the same as their last driver" talk is a bunch of crap. 18 month cycles don't lend themselves to slapping a new paintjob on a driver and calling it good. Does anyone think Titleist does that?
