3rd shot went in. Dropped, and would have been hitting 5 when it rolled back in the water. One stroke penalty, now hitting six. Got up and down for a 7.

He hit over the green into water, took a penalty and dropped on the bankside of the fringe. It was at rest when when he walked to the green to assess his chip, and as he was up on the green it rolled into the water. Another 1 stroke penalty.

Chips it in the water, takes a drop, walks up to the green to look at the line, meanwhile the ball rolls back into the water by itself.

That's a dumb rule. That shouldn't be applicable following a penalty where you have to drop.

 

Good Lord, not dumb and no reason to have an exception - the whole point is his ball went from in play and into a hazard, period, let's not start with the "it wasn't his fault stuff".

 

Ruling correct, move on.
