10 minutes isn't that far off.  I've had multiple times of forecasts changing wildly or being way off during the course of a round, let alone a few days out.

I've teed off with zero percent chance of precipitation and left the gear in the room. First timer rookie mistake that I learned from very quickly getting rained on by the 3rd hole.

Teed off in the fog on BD that was so bad we couldn't see the dogleg. By the second tee it was clearing. By the third hole it was a sideways monsoon that was so bad I just put my long sleeve jacket on over the waterproof vest I was wearing - it was so bad it wasnt worth the time to take it off.

And the sun was out at the turn.

So disregard all forecasts, dress for anything, always have rain gear in the bag, got it, thanks. 😂👍🏻

Pretty much.  The only time I'd chance not having raingear in the bag is if on the first tee you see all the caddies standing around in their white jumpsuits, not their raingear.

I’d be careful with the Caddies in white rule. Went out on Trails with them in white and then the rains started. Our caddies went over to the trash can near the walk way of #5/#17 and pulled out a rain set that was hidden under one of the cans. Had a good laugh about the fact that there are emergency suits out there.

Ok that's hilarious and I had no idea they had a cache.

5.5 weeks to go! Just snagged a cancellation at round lake and finalized my rounds:

Day 1: Fly in and play Preserve in PM

Day 2: SR, Pacific Dunes

Day 3: Trails, Bandon Dunes

Day 4: Old Mac -> Fly out

So pumped!

Nice, I’m looking at:

Day 1 - Sheep and Preserve

Day 2- Pacific

Day 3 - Bandon and Trails

Day 4 - Old Mac and Sheep

Day 5 - Trails and Bandon

Might try to sub another round at Pacific after playing all the courses one time.

I would do Pacific - Sheep is a 1 round per trip imo.

yeah I called the other day to try and get a second Pacific round but when I wanted it was booked, she said it’s the most booked course, going solo so will try again a couple weeks before the trip or when I get there

If you’re going solo, you’ll have a lot of flexibility once you get there.

I have been doing a trip in February for a few years now and I am 2 for 2 with frost delays on the day of departure which has resulted in no final round due to insufficient time. I seem to recall that not all courses are equally impacted by frost delays... anyone have suggestions on what course/s may be less susceptible to frost delay?

Others may have better knowledge but we just went through it this weekend.  Seems like they'll err on the side of "wait for it all to burn off, then deal with the crazy tee sheet later" and each course gets hit very different.  With such a big property, not a surprise.  Driving by Trails, it looked like glass, then just around the corner Bandon Dunes looked ready to go.  From what the pro shop folks told us, all of them started off within about ten mins of each other (but that might not be the norm...)

Gives you more time to buy merch though...

Sheep Ranch and Trails were on delay twice while the other courses started on time last November . No idea why though..

Alright important stuff here. Besides the energy balls any recommended good food and drinks from the course halfway houses? I see multiple Bandon Pale Ales in my near future, anything else ?
Transfusions ? A Bandon cocktail to go ?

I know not all will disagree, but I always liked the dried cranberries they had. The transfusion is a must.

This. The pastrami is the best food item there at any restaurant

Speaking of Trails End, the website still shows that they aren't fully open - only "counter service" for breakfast and lunch. Does anyone have experience with the the counter service model? Can you order and eat at the tables inside or on the patio? Do they serve beer/cocktails?

And does anyone have intel on if/when they will open up to full service? That was my favorite lunch spot.

It's like a fast food joint. They have tables and you can eat there, but there are no waitresses or service. You have to go to the counter to order and pick up there, then have a seat to eat or take it on the go.

We had our last round of the trip on March 1st a few years back.  All the courses had frost delay EXCEPT for Bandon Preserve which we had booked.  Halfway through the trip we switched from Old Mac to Preserve, got lucky bc we wouldn't have finished before the shuttle. Cool looking over to a frosted over Bandon Dunes while playing on a chilly morning.
