Can anyone with the brushed steel finish in SM8 comment on how they are wearing after some usage? Maybe some photos? I'm doing a fitting next Thursday and i think I have my eye on the brushed steel. I have jet black in SM7 and while the finish is wearing, it's not too unattractive yet.

the SM8 are amazing.

the M grind is just perfect for me. I think I'll swap my 52F and 56S for a 54M to match my 60m. I hit the M grind so clean

Blakely is a Pooton. Dad was a poodle and her mom was a Coton de Tulear. She's around 3 1/2 and weighs 10-11 pounds, no shedding, just a wonderful dog.

I'd be hesitant to do it on hardpan because of the 10° of bounce but with any grass it won't be a problem.

Could somebody please compare the ffeling of the raw model to the black version or chrome version?

 

HAs anyone played the 58 K with 6 bounce yet? how does it compare to a 58 m grind with 8 bounce please?

Any of you guys gotten a delivery from Vokey yet? I ordered 3 raw SM8s back on May 14th and it looks like they haven't shipped yet. Trying to see when I can expect them to come in.

I ordered black sm8 and plan on tossing them in some white vinegar and stripping the finish off. To any of those that have done that, how do they wear once the finish has been stripped off and they have been used? Pics would be great

I did that too a set of SM7 and I didn't use them much but you can always strip the rust back off to get back to that raw look. They look great raw though!

Did an iron fitting with Titleist yesterday and they fit me to an SM8 pitching wedge. Was unbelievable how much better it was through the turf than the set PW in the T100.

I liked the 54 S and 60 L. The M is a decent alternative for the S if you want to open things up more often or you like to use SW a lot around the greens.

The S gave me a nice club to play full SW swings into greens, but enough grind for around the greens and bunkers.

The L is low bounce, but I'm not a digger and I can do anything with that wedge.

You HAVE to get fit for wedges. How you use them, how you play them, how you swing, conditions you play in... so many little factors that add up on the course.

BTW, these feel amazing.

 

What finishes do you like?

The K is for diggers and soft sand bunkers. It's a lot of bounce. So I wouldn't choose this for myself because on tight lies I'd probably skull the ball... but I'm not a digger. For the right swing and conditions, you'd be hard pressed to ever hit these fat.

Ordered my 3 custom stamped jet black’s on 5/19 through Dick’s, and they just shipped. So they must have things pretty geared up and back to normal

That’s good to know. I ordered a Jet Black with no stamping and my pro said don’t expect it soon. That was just his guess and not something Titleist told him.

I stripped the paint off of my old SM7s using Citristrip gel. Worked great, although on Vokeys the paint can be a little stubborn, so sometimes you need to do it twice (overnight) and get in the grooves with some kind of wire brush or sharp tool.

I sold mine so I don't have long-term experience, but I did not notice any unusual wear or rust in the 6 months of use after stripping the paint.

BTW, I recommend a paint stripper over vinegar. Maybe vinegar will work eventually but it would guess it would be a long process.

Feel compared to SM7 ... To me, SM7 felt softer than SM8 and had a more uniform feel from all shots. SM8 feels firmer on chips and short pitches (but a very solid feel, not clangy) and absolutely outstanding on half to full shots. I suppose I slightly prefer the feel of SM7 on chips, but the feel on SM8 full shots is unlike anything I've ever felt before. Again, I wouldn't describe it as soft, but just a deep feeling of solid reverberation. When you middle the SM8 on a full shot, you receive a lovely reward.

I removed the black from multiple sets of SM6 and SM7 wedges with Distilled White Vinegar and a green Sctochbrite pad and never took more than 1 hour. If you're referring to removing the black finish on your SM7's, it's not a paint finish. I don't remember what it actually is, but it is a finish that keeps the metal in a raw state (but not raw like a true raw wedge). Vinegar will take a VERY long time if you're trying to just remove the paint from the aesthetics of the wedge... I use acetone to remove paint.

Worst Vokeys I’ve ever had. Just ordered glide 3.0 set and will play my sm7s until they come on. Harsh feel and never could get in rhythm with them.

Ive tried a bunch - M grind is great but the D might be the Best of the bunch - I like the M better from the sand though.

Currently playing a 54 D and 60 D combo ... I do miss the 52 56 60 setup.

Im thinking 52F 56D 60M.
