> I wouldnt find a change that may occur in sand from a light tough with a finger to be an improvement. Standard bunker shot (which that was) hitting behind the ball anyway. A few grains different (if it even amounted to that) isn't worth a hill of beans. If you're taking about building a channel behind a fried egg, yeah that'd be different.

Here’s the problem, we can almost all agree that a few grains is nothing and building a channel is absolutely a penalty, but where do you draw the line in between those extremes and how do we be sure that every player gets essentially the same ruling?

The penalty on Rory would have been a tough result but at least it would have taken the subjectivity out of it. Personally, I’m a fan of black and white because I think it does a better job of protecting the field.

On a side note, I’ve never seen as many commercials as they’ve had this week. This is unwatchable without a DVR.

Underrated part of his repertoire, I thought his short game looked great at Pebble and I saw things I hadn't noticed before. He appears to be improving (even if its only small margins) all the time which is scary.

It's a game that relies on honor in a lot of ways anyway. I draw the line here as iv stated earlier:

If there's a) no intent, and b) no advantage gained, then c) no penalty. I'd favor a penalty if neither of those conditions are met.

Starting to get a better feel for the course now that it's 2md time seeing it (I don't watch president's cup). Starting to like it more. It's only a stretch that feels too narrowly tucked together. Not putting it on same caliber as Augusta, but it's a good course, even by tour standards. And the views are jaw dropping.....that tee show they just showed of Reed with Manhattan in the background even made his little pudge look graceful. Lol

its a course that relies on wind.I almost had a chance to play it a few years back but got rained out. the views are very distracting but in a good way.Lots of high profile members

DJ looked terrible off the tee. He was even looking at bottom of driver like something was wrong with it after walking off #18 tee.

As has been commented in other threads on this topic, Bryson's act has grown tiresome. Ultimately, these guys are entertainers, and he's not entertaining. In fact, he's a bore and, as such, a bad brand representative. I'd just as soon watch grass grow.

I’d argue that the only thing Bryson has going for him is that he’s entertaining. Maybe not in a good way, but entertaining none the less.

Yeah, especially when he said the putt took longer because "my caddie called me off"...that was like after 90 sec of the bs and the caddy asks him if he wanted the pin in or not? Then he resets, pulls the book again, etc etc. I don't know how the other players deal with it. Would make me crazy

Justin Thomas "If you walk faster than anyone to your ball but you're still a hole-and-a-half behind its not working." One sentence that cut through that entire word salad that Bryson delivered.

I’ll give Bryson a break on the 70 yard wedge shot as he did wait for a group on the tee to tee off. He walked off the distance while he had to wait but that 8ft putt that he nearly took 2 1/2 minutes on was embarrassing.

Did he call him an "a hole"?

Good to see Reed winning again after his swing troubles.

And good to see him putting well again after ditching that garbage Scotty Cameron putter Cameron made for him, hes back to the Odyssey.

On course with the public Bryson plays in full body armor because he knows a frustrated amateur might send a stinger at his head.

I know I would. Slow play is the biggest threat to golf's popularity...in the bay area I can't find a public course I can play on a saturday in under 5 hours.

I watched the exchange in it's entirety. He said he thought it was a rock, thus his intent was to touch a rock (which is absolutely permissible). It turns out it wasn't a rock, but a clump of sand, thus he unintentionally touched sand, which is also absolutely permissible.

Very surprised about DJ's round, Jordan unfortunately kept on trend with his 2919 3rd scoring and having thought after two rounds that DJ wa a clear favourite to win it now looks like Reed but Rahm is the danger man. Rahm loves a win from a few back.
