Season is over for Bubba and its looks likely the same fate for Segio.

Grillo missed by one but if he had made this putt he'd have been in for the weekend.

Jordan playing well and competing at the top end of the leaderboard makes tournament golf more exciting so for that reason alone I hope he has a good weekend.

DJ looks the most likely winner.

Faldo was wrong about there not being any advantage gained. He admitted to removing a tuft of sand directly behind the ball he thought was a pebble.By definition it improved his lie. I take him at his word that he thought it was a pebble but thems the breaks. Should be 1 shot and try to recreate the lie to make it fair to his competitors/field.

> A ruling was changed after the round due to a star player lobbying!! color me shocked. If it didnt improve hislie why bother attempting to remove the non existing pebble. Some critical thinking is needed.

> A "pebble" sticks out of the sand so by definition he cant make as clear contact with the ball so he bends over touches that spot which turns out to be sand so that obviously gets flattened allowing more of the ball to show aka improving the lie. i think the 2 shot penalty is too harsh in this scenario however the penalty was warranted and Rory did the right thing by reporting it to the official. Were allowed to disagree with the rules and officials.Im doing both at the same time

If it was not a star player would it have been ok to lobby? A player, any player, is allowed to challenge a ruling. After listening to the player and PGA rules officials the USGA agreed the penalty should be rescinded. And yes I read the rule. I respect you on this board and generally enjoy reading your posts. I just disagree with your interpretation here.

Rory and Louis O play together today. I like Rory's swing, but Louis' is sublime. It hardly looks like he is trying to hit the ball. Great athletes make their games look easy, and no one does it better than Louis O.

Rory and Koepka are right. Long past time to start handing out stroke penalties for that sort of garbage. They'd been on the clock for a few holes at that point. Enough with the warnings, and forget fines, which mean nothing considering what these guys make.

If you haven't clicked on that twitter thread it's worth it just to hear Eddie Pepperell chime in. Rich Beem and Luke Donald too. Beemer is *pissed* lol.

What do you think? ?

They will probably do something when Tiger will retire. Till that day they will just act like there is no problem.

Didn't he retire after Augusta?

Right from the start - he's the one who brought it to the attention of the referee in the first place - he was all class in how he handled it. Made his case and accepted the decision.

It's a shame (unbelievable, actually) that the Referee on course with Rory AND Slugger White both got it wrong. Especially since they went to such great effort to revamp and simplify the rules this year. This cannot continue to happen.

As for the tourney itself, it's great to see Spieth looking so good again.

Huh. Well you learn something new everyday I suppose.

In all seriousness though, that Bryson stuff......There's no way that isn't creating a competitive disadvantage for at least his playing partners, if not all the groups waiting behind.

He part time ; )

And they didn’t do anything after jack retired and he was far more “deliberate” than TW.

I’ve never even heard that TW is that slow. Here he is on the subject,

“Woods seemed resigned to little happening. He said he knows of players who will purposely play slow when grouped with a slower player -- hoping to get put on the clock so the entire group is forced to speed up.

"What about the guys behind them and the logjam that creates," Woods said. "We've been fighting that for, God, ever since I grew up watching the game, guys were complaining about slow play. We can only go as fast as the group in front of us goes."
