Shorts on Tour

That’s what I was saying. Add in a stretchy shirt of some sort and a head band. Make it a “ sport”. All or nothing. This halfway stuff is a mess.

This is what I see with this style.

Head bands, wrist bands, hats worn sideways and backwards should be allowed. Maybe throw in the droopy drawer look with the boxer/briefs showing too. Earbuds and golf sandals might be welcomed. Jeans and cargo shorts might be nice. Lots of pockets for carrying vegan protein bars and energy drinks. Think how much better Arnie would look and feel if he could have worked like this. Dress codes should be abolished in all walks of life. NOW GET OFF MY LAWN!

I’ve golfed in South Africa before. The heat is staggering. It hit you like a punch in the face when you step outside. It doesn’t bother me seeing these guys wearing shorts. I get a bit of calf jealousy every now and then but that’s it

I just saw the article that the EuroPGA Tour players will be allowed to play in shorts for the first time for the Alfred Dunhill Championship. Wondering if this is a 'foot in the door' for the same to happen elsewhere? European Tour allows players to wear shorts during event for first time at Alfred Dunhill ChampionshipWow, I didn't notice the new editing.... I guarantee that within two years time - ALL professional male golf tours will allow shorts to be worn during competition.

It is a stupid, antiquated remnant of the game that needs to be changed. After a month or so - no one will even notice they are wearing shorts. Remember when caddies had to wear long pants? Yeah - didn't think so  ….

If you feel pants and sun sleeves are best for you - fine - my point is the choice to wear or not wear shorts should be up to the player.

The vast majority of the golfers playing in this South African tournament in 40C weather are choosing to wear shorts. I would too  ….

Pants and all black clothing for me. Shorts are for the Conditioning coach you see in football games when its 10 below. Join the LPGA if you want to wear shorts.

Apples and oranges  …  most other sports the uniform serves a purpose like protection  or to tell the teams apart. A sport like golf is more akin to bowling or darts - the "uniform" is basically just clothes.

Not sure why golf has to be different, but we can agree to disagree. I still maintain it is only a matter of time though - and when it changes no one will question it soon after.
