Besides the sand shoveling he kept grounding his club head behind the ball (an excessive amount of times).

I thought he may be trying to improve his lie because he grounded his club head 5-7 times firmly behind the ball. How can you think that won't affect the sand/lie? Not counting the shoveling.

I understand the Rules. What I fail to see is how the result of Reed's actions are any different than the result of Kuchar's actions. They both had the same intent, they both improved the playability of the ball, but somehow Kuchar didn't get penalized.

I think his camera angle excuse gives him just enough cover to get away with it. I’m pretty sure he knew he was cheating but I can’t say for certain.
