I always thought his college teammates who called him out were jealous of his success and I disregarded their comments. Now I have to believe the dude has cheated his whole life. Best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. With all the drama of his personal life tells me the guy has serious issues. not really spotting the field when you improve lie. He may have hit it fat or bladed one with original lie. He got what he deserved. A little different than a ball moving while addressing a putt, which has no bearing on the next shot.

Yes spotting 2 strokes because of penalty. Lets say he hits it fat and needed another to get it on. Okay good. As it turned out in real life, he hit it through the green and needed another shot to get on as it was, so in essence he did suffer more actual strokes like you're saying could have happened AND an additional 2 PS.

 

I know what he did, I'm not defending it. But yeah it would indeed be awkward if he beats everyone even though he gets docked 2 strokes. It would be tough to swallow for the guys ahead of him. I don't think that will happen though

There are so many people close to him calling him a serial cheater...former coaches, teammates, and competitors. And multiple of examples of him blatantly cheating on camera (to any objective eye anyway). This isn't even a "where there's smoke there's fire deal, this is just an open eternal flame. The guy's a cheat, and should have the same fate as he would in any other sport. They'd follow professional cycling if I had my pick - any Lance fans out there? ol

Never been a fan of Reed. I cannot believe a player at his level who is looking down at the ball couldn't see he moved sand twice. He should also have felt it anyway. His response is characteristic of someone who was trying to cheat and got caught.

With the amount of money on the line with golf now, I wonder at what point we get into heavier legal implications with cheating. We are talking about a monetary gain of possibly up to a couple hundred thousand dollars by trying to cheat a couple strokes.

Cant happen. And if it somehow ever did it would be a disastrous precedent that would end up ruining sports... Are we going to throw catchers in jail for framing pitches? Basketball players for flopping? An NFL wide receiver for pushing off and not having it called? It's not that much different than improving your lie, if it's even different at all

Reed WAS penalized , so the foul was called. And if he wasn't penalized, then it didn't happen.

Next thing were going to have idiot football fans trying to take the NFL to court because their team didn't get a pass interference ca.....oops

People shouldn't gamble on sports if they dont like missed calls. They happen. And this one wasn't even missed
