Congrats on the great fit with M5. Your experience doesn't match anyone I've seen hit SIM, so it seems like you might have an outlier.

So someone that has admitted they hate TM, gave a lousy hot take on how TM must not consult any real players with their cosmetics, and claimed the drivers were going to be slower before they were available, is claiming that they are inferior now. SHOCKED. Two things;

1) I'd be willing to bet $$$ you haven't touched one.

2) You said that OEM's like Taylormade should not be allowed on the forums because they contribute nothing. Are you trying to outdo them here or are you just naturally obnoxious? ?

Everyone I’ve watched hit the SIM and SIM Max has had gains, whether it be from ball speed or swing speed or both, I have yet to see someone’s M5 or M6 outmatch it. I call bs. These woods are serious this year. Oh and I haven’t bagged a TM driver since 2016 when they released the OG M2

It’s going to vary year from year for people. Imo the most gains come for those who don’t find center consistently. As the face gets faster off center these golfers will gain speed on their miss. Those who find center will get minimal gains but they will be there as technology allows lighter and faster. If more brands get into AI there will probably need gains year to year

I haven’t seen any gains from a TM driver over their predecessors for the past few years, something’s different this year with this release, not sure what but TM found a loophole somehow

My son's coach has the Sim Max in the bag and I was impressed in the looks department. He played the M4 prior and said gains are minimal, but the Max rolls out a lot more.

I only started playing a few years ago, and joined this forum then. Seems every year at this time everyone gets excited about the new products and since it's the off season that's understandable. But I hit an old RBZ yesterday with a softer shaft than I'm used to, and it seemed to go every bit as far as my EF SZ (with old range balls). I would really enjoy hearing from anyone who has tried the RBZ vs. the SIM for their comparison. How would it stack up?

I am not challenging your personal testing, but a large number of their guys already have a SIM or SIM Max in play this week. We'll see if that lasts, but the early adoption is probably a good sign.

That off center speed retention is what I saw in m5. I've hit drives with it that shouldn't have gone anywhere near as far as they did.

The problem? It seems TM had to (or chose to) sacrifice center strikes to get where they got. M5 has been slower than everything I've put it against when hit well. TM also got spin lower on higher loft heads in m5.

Those center strikes are why I'm so interested in SIM. If they got ballspeeds up and maintain the forgiveness and speed consistency on off center hits then it'll be special.

I saw the lack of speed on center strikes in the m5 as well and lack of spin. Due to launch and spin I was getting similar total distances with the m5 as my g400 and 917 but was losing about 10 yards in carry. The accuracy was great and pretty much eliminated the left side for me in testing. It the 1800s spin was a little to low for my liking

Contracts dictate using the latest gear for the top guys at TM....if non-contract players make an early switch to SiM it will tell us something....

I had to go to a 10.5 head lofted down one click in m5. I've never been in a 10.5 head. Was always in 9.0 or 9.5.

9.0 m5 head didn't spin consistently high enough to support the sub 13 launch. I'd hit balls that just fell out of the sky.

M5 is so ridiculously straight for me. Just hate that I'm 2-4 mph slower on center strikes compared to m4.

Only driver I’ve played that was equal in straightens is the m1 430. Grabbed a brand new head off the bay a few months back. I’m looking forward to hitting the sim line and expecting it to go on the bag
