Anyone try yellow golf balls and NOT like them?

Other than in dormant bermuda, yellow or Vice lime are my preferred colors, far easier to see for my older eyes, clearly YMMV.

I'm glad there are so many responses here from people that do not like the yellow ball because one of the benefits I like about them is that I am often the only one using them so it is easy to differentiate mine from the others. Not a big deal, but the main reason I play them is that that are usually easier to see and I need all the help I can get in that department. I carry my driver about 225yds in the air, above average for a 67 year old, but rarely see it land because my vision is so bad.

I'm 32 and have a much easier time seeing white balls in the air and finding them once they land. The traditionalist in me prefers the white. I've walked over my buddies colored balls on numerous occasion. The yellow just seems to blend in more. Couple that with the proliferation of yellow range balls at my local courses and it just becomes a bad combination all around.

I use to hate any colored ball but that was before they came out with a premium ball that wasn’t just white. Now I use a yellow ball pretty much exclusively and have tried most premium versions. I’ve never been a “traditionalist” as golf is just a game and it would be hypocritical to make that claim about a colored golf ball since I use a 400+cc driver with a premium graphite shaft, modern irons with steel shafts, etc.

I have been playing (on and off) for over 20 years and I can say I LOVE Yellow golf balls (premium models only). if I get a yellow option on my preferred balls, I default to them. If not, then I buy white (like TOur BX, which I wish was available in yellow like the PROV1X and now Taylormade TP5X)

It was actually the opposite for me, I never bothered to try a yellow ball because I thought I’d hate it but I got a yellow sleeve of oncore elixr because the white was out of stock and I actually enjoyed playing with yellow a lot. Easier to find and makes me stand out from the rest of the group. Might have to make the switch.

I hate colored golf balls. Color blind . Yellow golf ball blends in too much. Mostly if dandelions are present.

I couldn't find it when the course started to bake out. It was easier to locate the white ones.

Srixon, "Tour" Yellow if you please.

Old, blind guy here. I can see this ball in the air until about 200 yards. White balls, not so much.

Plus, as mentioned above, I'm usually the only guy in my group playing yellow, so much easier to discern who's who.

I tried to pull the trigger on the buy 2 dozen get 1 dozen free offer Srixon currently offers, but couldn't find the deal on the Yellow, er, TOUR Yellow online at Dick's or Golf Galaxy.

I'm kinda glad I couldn't because I did a quick ball stock count, and this Covid thing (have you heard about it?} has kept my ball inventory relatively high.

Stay safe guys.

Going to go a different route on this one. I am not opposed to yellow balls but defer to white. Why? The yellow balls are different in performance, at least on the premium level balls. If you press a Titleist rep they will admit this. They cannot get the cover formulation the same. There is a difference.

Only tried the venerable old 2012 Z Star XV in yellow but never went back to yellow. Just doesn’t do anything for me

I'm transitioning to yellow. Have played the yellow and black Truvis Chrome Soft, RX in yellow, and Z-Star in yellow. All different shades of yellow. The RX is the least appealing but I like the ball the most. A lot of guys my age on the Sr. Tour use yellow balls. They help me a little to see the ball. Plus they look cool.

Yellow Titleist Tour Soft for me. I buy them 100 at a time 'like new' used online. Just a mental comfort thing. The prov1x has better carry numbers off the tee but it just didn't feel good when i hit it. I changed to yellow 15 years ago to help me locate the ball in the air. Used the NXT for a long time and then went to the Tour Softs as soon as they discontinued the NXTs.

White ball only due to color blindness . Can’t see anything that blends in with grass very green or dying out.

The only thing that keeps me from using yellow balls is that I feel like they become damaged easier. Its not necessarily scuffing but after trying 2-3 different brands/models it seems like I can only play 3-4 holes before the yellow starts "bruising" (turning blackish or brownish in spots). It has been a while since I last gave yellow balls a go though, so this may have changed. Anyone have any input on whether this is an issue with the new yellow ProV or TP5?

This. It was the only yellow ball I hated. I couldn't get rid of them fast enough.

For a long time I wouldn't play anything but yellow balls. And I still think that's the best color for them. But maybe my eyes have changed or something, the past year or so I can't see the yellow any better than white or vice versa, overall. Sitting in the junk along the tree line the yellow seems easier to see but on fairway or in short rough I can actually see the white from farther away. So it's just about a wash visibility-wise for me now. Given a choice, I still pick yellow though.

I have pretty good vision (never needed glasses/contacts) and I've never felt like yellow balls helped for visibility purposes in the air. If anything, I felt like they are a bit harder to see. That combined with being comfortable with and liking a white ball, I just don't see a reason to play them. If I find a brand new yellow Pro V1x I'll probably play it but would never buy anything in yellow.
